Michael Andrews is composing the music for the upcoming indie drama The Adderall Diaries. The film is directed by Pamela Romanowsky and stars James Franco, Amber Heard, Ed Harris, Christian Slater, Cynthia Nixon and Jim Parrack. The movie centers on the gripping account of a young man navigating the unstable terrain of truth and identity. Romanowsky has also written the screenplay based on the memoir by Stephen Elliott (About Cherry). Franco & Vince Jolivette (Palo Alto, Child of God) are producing the project for Rabbit Bandini Productions, alongside James Reach & Joseph McKelheer for Windowseat Films. Robert Redford serves as an executive producer.

Premiering tonight is the new HBO original series Togetherness created and executive produced by Mark & Jay Duplass and starring Amanda Peet, Melanie Lynskey, Mark Duplass and Steve Zissis. The show’s original music is composed by Michael Andrews (Neighbors, Bridesmaids, Donnie Darko) who previously scored the Duplass Brothers’ features Cyrus and Jeff Who Lives at Home. The series about two couples who are living under the same Los Angeles roof and who are struggling in their relationships while dealing with their individual problems will every Sunday night on HBO. Premiering tomorrow, January 12, is the new MTV original drama Eye Candy based on the book by R.L. Stine, executive produced by Jason Blum and starring Victoria Justice, Casey Deidrick, Harvey Guillen, Kiersey Clemons and John Garet Stoker. Dino Meneghin (Teen Wolf) is composing the show’s original score. Eye Candy follows a tech genius who is persuaded by her roommate to begin online dating and begins to suspect that one of her mysterious suitors might be a deadly cyber stalker. Michael Andrews is composing the music for the upcoming HBO original series Togetherness. The show is created and executive produced by Mark & Jay Duplass and stars Amanda Peet, Melanie Lynskey, Mark Duplass and Steve Zissis. Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the animated sequel Planes: Fire & Rescue directed by Bobs Gannaway and featuring the voices of Dane Cook, Julie Bowen, Stacy Keach, Brad Garrett, Danny Mann, Teri Hatcher and Ed Harris. Mark Mancina (Tarzan, Twister, Brother Bear, Speed) who previously scored last year’s original film has composed the film’s original score. Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, as well as the original song Still I Fly performed by Spencer Lee and three songs by Brad Paisley. Also opening wide is the thriller sequel The Purge: Anarchy written and directed by James DeMonaco and starring Zach Gilford, Michael Williams, Kiele Sanchez, Frank Grillo and Carmen Ejogoro. Opening in most theaters is the comedy Tammy directed by Ben Falcone and starring Melissa McCarthy, Susan Sarandon, Allison Janney, Gary Cole, Mark Duplass, Dan Aykroyd, Kathy Bates, Toni Collette and Nat Faxon. The film’s original music is composed by Michael Andrews (Donnie Darko, Bridesmaids, The Heat). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, as well as two songs by Possum Creek earlier this week. Also opening wide is the family sci-fi adventure Earth to Echo directed by Dave Green and starring Teo Halm, Brian “Astro” Bradley, Reese Hartwig and Ella Linnea Wahlested. Joseph Trapanese (Oblivion, The Raid, Tron: Uprising) has composed the film’s original music. Relativity Music Group has released a soundtrack featuring the composer’s score, as well as the song Worlds Away performed by Dia Frampton. ‘Tammy’ Soundtrack Announced
WaterTower Music will release a soundtrack album for the comedy Tammy. The album features the film’s original music composed by Michael Andrews (Bridesmaids, Neighbors, Bad Teacher, Donnie Darko). Also included are two songs by Possum Creek. The soundtrack will be released on July 1, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips are available after the jump. Tammy is directed by Ben Falcone and stars Melissa McCarthy, Susan Sarandon, Allison Janney, Gary Cole, Mark Duplass, Dan Aykroyd, Kathy Bates, Toni Collette and Nat Faxon. The movie follows a woman who after losing her job and learning that her husband has been unfaithful, hits the road with her profane, hard-drinking grandmother. McCarthy has also co-written the screenplay with Falcone. The comedy will be released nationwide on July 2 by Warner Bros. Pictures.

‘The Reluctant Fundamentalist’ Soundtrack Released
Knitting Factory has released a soundtrack album for the thriller The Reluctant Fundamentalist. The album features the film’s original score composed by Michael Andrews (Donnie Darko, Bridesmaids), as well as several songs featured in the film by artsist including Amy Ryan, Atif Aslam and Zahra Khan. The Reluctant Fundamentalist is directed by Mira Nair and stars Riz Ahmed, Kate Hudson, Liev Schreiber and Kiefer Sutherland. The movie follows a young Pakistani working on Wall Street and chasing the American dream, whose life is fateful changed by the September 11 attacks.

Expected to top the weekend box office is the action comedy Pain & Gain directed by Michael Bay and starring Dwayne Johnson, Mark Wahlberg, Ed Harris, Rob Corddry, Anthony Mackie, Bar Paly, Tony Shalhoub, Rebel Wilson and Ken Jeong. The film’s original score is composed by Steve Jablonsky (Transformers series, Gangster Squad). Varese Sarabande has announced a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music. Also opening wide is the ensemble romantic comedy The Big Wedding written and directed by Justin Zackham and starring Diane Keaton, Robert De Niro, Susan Sarandon, Robin Williams, Katherine Heigl, Amanda Seyfried and Topher Grace. Nathan Barr (Hostel, True Blood) has composed the film’s original score. The composer has also co-written the original song It’s a Wonderful Life with Lisbeth Scott for the project.
