Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the survival thriller Last Breath co-written and directed by Alex Parkinson and starring Woody Harrelson, Simu Liu, Cliff Curtis and Finn Cole. The film’s original music is composed by Paul Leonard-Morgan (Limitless, Boston Strangler, Fellow Travelers, Dredd, Bodkin, Dynasty, Tales from the Loop, Wormwood). Filmtrax/Atlantic Screen Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Check out our previous news article for the full album details and to learn more about the movie, which is being released by Focus Features.

Also opening wide is the drama My Dead Friend Zoe directed by Kyle Hausmann-Stokes and starring Sonequa Martin-Green, Natalie Morales, Ed Harris, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Morgan Freeman and Gloria Reuben. Dan Romer (Luca, Station Eleven, Maniac, Superman & Lois, Beasts of the Southern Wild, Beasts of No Nation) has composed the film’s original score and also co-wrote the original song Beautiful Ruin (with Kaia Kater) for the project. No word yet on a soundtrack release. ‘Funny Face’ Soundtrack Album Released

Gardener Recordings has released a soundtrack album for the drama Funny Face. The album features the film’s original music composed by Phil Mossman (Cop Car, Donnybrook, Mr. Mercedes, Another Earth). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon (and any other major digital music services), where you can also check out audio samples. Funny Face is written and directed by Tim Sutton and stars Cosmo Jarvis, Jonny Lee Miller, Dela Meskienyar, Victor Garber, Dan Hedaya, Jeremy Bobb and Rhea Perlman. The movie revolves around two young outcasts-turned-avengers who meet in a late night bodega and form a bond that takes them on a journey of revenge through a maze-like Brooklyn in the midst of great change.

Three new movies are opening nationwide this week:

Opening in most theaters is the sci-fi action adventure Alita: Battle Angel directed by Robert Rodriguez, produced by James Cameron and starring Rosa Salazar, Christoph Waltz, Jennifer Connelly, Mahershala Ali, Ed Skrein and Jackie Earle Haley. The film’s original music is composed by Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL) (Mad Max: Fury Road, Deadpool, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice). Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score (click here for the full album details). Also available now is the original end credits track Swan Song performed by Dua Lipa (click here for more information).

Also opening wide is the slasher sequel Happy Death Day 2U directed by Christopher Landon and starring Jessica Rothe, Israel Broussard, Phi Vu, Suraj Sharma and Ruby Modine. Bear McCreary (10 Cloverfield Lane, The Walking Dead, Outlander) has composed the film’s original music. Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Phil Mossman Scoring ‘Donnybrook’

Phil Mossman is composing the music for the upcoming indie drama Donnybrook. The film is written and directed by Tim Sutton and stars Frank Grillo, Jamie Bell, Margaret Qualley and James Badge Dale. The movie is based on Frank Bill’s 2013 novel of the same title and follows a man hard up for cash and determined to support his family as he competes in the Donnybrook, a legendary brawl where a $100,000 prize goes to the last man standing. David Lancaster (Whiplash, Nightcrawler, No Escape) and Stephanie Wilcox (Small Crimes) are producing the Rumble Films and Backup Media production.

Premiering tomorrow, November 21, is the new TBS original series Search Party created by Sarah-Violet Bliss & Charles Roger and starring Alia Shawkat, John Early, John Reynolds, Meredith Hagner and Brandon Micheal Hall. The show’s original music is composed by Brian H. Kim (Hello, My Name is Doris, Significant Mother, G.B.F.). The comedy follows four self-absorbed twenty-somethings who become entangled in an ominous mystery when a former college acquaintance suddenly disappears. Premiering on Tuesday, November 22, on Netflix is the thriller Mercy written and directed by Chris Sparling and starring James Wolk, Caitlin Fitzgerald, Tom Lipinski, Dan Ziskie, Michael Godere, Michael Donovan, Dion Graham and Constance Baron. Phil Mossman (Cop Car, Another Earth, I Origins, Lola Versus) has composed the film’s original music. ‘Emelie’ Soundtrack to Be Released

Plaza Mayor Company will release a soundtrack album for the horror thriller Emelie. The album features the film’s original music composed by Phil Mossman (Cop Car, Another Earth, I Origins, Lola Versus, Mercy). The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 25, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Emelie is directed by Michael Thelin and stars Sarah Bolger, Joshua Rush, Carly Adams, Thomas Bair, Susan Pourfar and Chris Beetem. The movie revolves around a couple’s replacement babysitter who turns out to be more than they bargined for when she subjects their kids to a series of twisted activities.

Phil Mossman has recently scored the upcoming thriller Mercy. The film is written and directed by Chris Sparling (Buried, The Atticus Institute, ATM) and stars James Wolk, Caitlin Fitzgerald, Tom Lipinski, Dan Ziskie, Michael Godere, Michael Donovan, Dion Graham and Constance Baron. The movie follows four estranged brothers who return to their childhood home to be with their dying mother and find their bond tested after old family secrets begin to surface. Andrew D. Corkin (Big Significant Things), Kyle Franke (Holidays) and Robyn Bennett are producing the project.

‘Cop Car’ Soundtrack Released

A soundtrack album has been released for the thriller Cop Car. The album features the film’s original music composed by Phil Mossman (Another Earth, Lola Versus, I Origins). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Cop Car is directed by Jon Watts (Marvel Studios’ upcoming Spider-Man reboot) and stars Kevin Bacon, Shea Whigham, Camryn Manheim, James Freedson-Jackson and Hays Wellford. The movie follows two 10-year-old boys attempting to navigate the back roads behind the wheel of a seemingly abandoned police car that they have no clue how to operate.

Four new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the superhero movie Fantastic Four directed by Josh Trank and starring Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell and Toby Kebbell. The film’s original music is composed by Marco Beltrami (Scream, The Wolverine, World War Z, 3:10 to Yuma) and Philip Glass (The Hours, Notes on a Scandal, Candyman). Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ music digitally last week and a CD version is set to come out on August 14. Also opening wide is the thriller The Gift directed by Joel Edgerton who also stars in the film alongside Rebecca Hall and Jason Bateman. Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score digitally today. A CD version is also available overseas. Mark Mancina (Tarzan, Twister, Brother Bear, Speed) who previously scored last year’s original film has composed the film’s original score. Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, as well as the original song Still I Fly performed by Spencer Lee and three songs by Brad Paisley. Also opening wide is the thriller sequel The Purge: Anarchy written and directed by James DeMonaco and starring Zach Gilford, Michael Williams, Kiele Sanchez, Frank Grillo and Carmen Ejogoro.
