WaterTower Music will release the first-ever score album for the hit comedy drama Gilmore Girls created by Amy Sherman-Palladino and starring Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Melissa McCarthy, Keiko Agena, Kelly Bishop, Yanic Truesdale, Scott Patterson, Edward Herrmann, Jared Padalecki, Liza Weil & Milo Ventimiglia. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Sam Phillips (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Bunheads). Visit Amazon or any other major digital music services to stream/download the soundtrack and also listen to the first two tracks below. Mutant will release a vinyl and CD version. Rhino Records has previously released the album Our Little Corner of the World featuring a selections of songs from the series’ first seasons, as well as five score tracks back in 2002.

Sam Phillips & Eric Gorfain Scoring Amazon’s ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’
Sam Phillips and Eric Gorfain have scored the Amazon Studios pilot The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. The show is created by Amy Sherman-Palladino and stars Rachel Brosnahan, Michael Zegen, Alex Borstein, Tony Shalhoub and Marin Hinkle. The drama is set in 1958 Manhattan tells the story of Miriam “Midge” Maisel whose perfect life suddenly takes an unexpected turn. Sherman-Palladino has also directed the pilot and is executive producing the project with Daniel Palladino. Phillips has previously scored all episodes of Sherman-Palladino’s Gilmore Girls and last year’s Netflix revival of the series, as well as ABC Family’s Bunheads.

Premiering tomorrow, November 21, is the new TBS original series Search Party created by Sarah-Violet Bliss & Charles Roger and starring Alia Shawkat, John Early, John Reynolds, Meredith Hagner and Brandon Micheal Hall. The show’s original music is composed by Brian H. Kim (Hello, My Name is Doris, Significant Mother, G.B.F.). The comedy follows four self-absorbed twenty-somethings who become entangled in an ominous mystery when a former college acquaintance suddenly disappears. Premiering on Tuesday, November 22, on Netflix is the thriller Mercy written and directed by Chris Sparling and starring James Wolk, Caitlin Fitzgerald, Tom Lipinski, Dan Ziskie, Michael Godere, Michael Donovan, Dion Graham and Constance Baron. Phil Mossman (Cop Car, Another Earth, I Origins, Lola Versus) has composed the film’s original music. Sam Phillips Reuniting with Amy Sherman-Palladino on ABC Family’s ‘Bunheads’
Sam Philipps has reunited with Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino to score the new ABC Family drama Bunheads. The show marks Phillips’ first TV scoring assignment since her work on all seven seasons of the critically acclaimed WB series. Bunheads stars Sutton Foster as a Las Vegas showgirl who impulsively marries a man, moves to his sleepy coastal town, and takes an uneasy role at her new mother-in-law’s dance school. Kaitlyn Jenkins, Julia Goldani Telles, Bailey Buntain and Emma Dumont are co-starring and Kelly Bishop (Gilmore Girls) is guest starring. Sherman-Palladino is executive producing the drama and has also directed the pilot episode.
