Premiering tonight is the new Fox comedy Son of Zorn created by Reed Agnew & Eli Jorne and starring Johnny Pemberton, Cheryl Hines, Tim Meadows, as well as Jason Sudeikis as the voice of Zorn. The show’s original music is composed by Leo Birenberg (Red Army, Big Time in Hollywood, FL). Also premiering tonight in the U.S. is the television movie Churchill’s Secret directed by Charles Sturridge and starring Michael Gambon, Lindsay Duncan, Romola Garai, Matthew Macfayden, Bill Paterson, Daisy Lewis, Tara Fitzgerald, James Wilby and Rachel Stirling. ‘Poldark’ Deluxe Edition Soundtrack Announced

Sony Classical will release a deluxe edition soundtrack for the BBC original series Poldark. The album features the show’s original music composed by Anne Dudley (The Full Monty, Black Book, Elle, American History X), including the content of the first soundtrack album for the drama, which was released last year, as well as a new performance of the Poldark theme performed by pianist Lang Lang. Also included are two newly recorded folk songs performed by actress Eleanor Tomlinson that feature in key moments during the series, and a 5-minute suite of the most popular themes from the series. The soundtrack will be released on September 16, 2016.

Premiering today in the U.S. is the British/French TV series The Tunnel based on the Scandinavian drama The Bridge and starring Stephen Dillane and Clémence Poésy. The music from the show’s first season is composed by Adrian Johnston (Becoming Jane, Kinky Boots, Bridesheads Revisited, Dancing on the Edge) and the second season is scored by Ben Bartlett (Walking with Dinosaurs, The Mark of Cain). The drama follows two detectives working together to find a serial killer who left the upper-half body of a French politician and the lower-half of a British prostitute in the Channel Tunnel. Premiering tomorrow, June 20, is the documentary Suited directed by Jason Benjamin and produced by Lena Dunham. Owen Pallett (Her, Life, The Box) has composed the film’s original music. The movie centers on Bindle & Keep, a Brooklyn tailoring company that is known for making custom suits for a growing legion of gender-nonconforming clients. Martin Phipps to Score ITV’s ‘Victoria’

Martin Phipps is currently scoring the upcoming ITV drama Victoria. The show is created by novelist Daisy Goodwin and stars Jenna Coleman, Rufus Sewell, Alex Jennings, Paul Rhys, Tom Hughes and Peter Firth. The 8-part series follows the early life of Queen Victoria, from her accession to the throne at the age of 18 through to her courtship and marriage to Prince Albert. Goodwin is also producing the Mammoth Screen production with Dan McCulloch (Endeavour, Indian Summers) and Damien Timmer (Parade’s End, Poldark).

‘Home Fires’ Soundtrack Announced

Sony Classical will release a soundtrack album for the British TV series Home Fires. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by Samuel Sim (Awake, Dunkirk, The Reckoning, including the drama’s theme, which the composer arranged into a new four minute version, Siren (Theme from “Home Fires”). The soundtrack will be released on May 6, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Home Fires stars Samantha Bond, Francesca Annis, Ed Stoppard, Ruth Gemmell, Claire Rushbrook, Frances Grey, Clare Calbraith and Rachel Hurd-Wood. The show based on the book Jambusters by Julie Summers is set during World War II and follows a group of inspirational women in a rural Cheshire community.

Soundtrack Album for PBS’ ‘Mercy Street’ to Be Released

A soundtrack album will be released for the PBS mini-series Mercy Street. The album features the show’s original music composed by David Buckley (The Good Wife, The Town, The Forbidden Kingdom, The Brothers Grimsby). The soundtrack will be released tomorrow, February 9 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Mercy Street is created by Lisa Q. Wolfinger & David Zabel and stars Josh Radnor, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Gary Cole, Peter Gerety, Norbert Leo Butz, AnnaSophia Robb and Cherry Jones. The 6-parter centers on the lives of two volunteer nurses on opposing sides of the Civil War – New England abolitionist Mary Phinney and Confederate supporter Emma Green.

Adrian Johnston to Score ITV’s & PBS’ ‘Churchill’s Secret’

Adrian Johnston is reuniting with director Charles Sturridge on the upcoming ITV/PBS movie Churchill’s Secret. The film is adapted by Stewart Harcourt (Treasure Island, Poirot) from Jonathan Smith’s book The Churchill Secret: KBO and stars Michael Gambon as Sir Winston Churchill, Lindsay Duncan as Clementine Churchill, as well as Romola Garai, Matthew Macfayden, Bill Paterson, Daisy Lewis, Tara Fitzgerald, James Wilby and Rachel Stirling. The drama is told from the point of view of Churchill’s nurse Millie Appleyard and follows the British Prime Minister’s battle to recover from a stroke in 1953, as his wife hopes it will force him to retire, and his political friends and foe strategize as to who will succeed him.
