Legacy Recordings, Columbia Records, Third Man Records nd Lomax Records have announced a number of soundtracks for the PBS docu-series American Epic. The releases include the 5-CD deluxe box set American Epic: The Collection, which features 100 songs from the show by artists including Mississippi John Hurt, The Carter Family, Charley Patton, Jimmie Rodgers, Lydia Mendoza & more, and is set to be released on May 12 (click here to pre-order), as well as American Epic: The Soundtrack, which features 15 songs and will be released digitally and physically on the same day (visit Amazon to pre-order). On June 9, the labels will release American Epic: The Sessions, produced by Jack White & T Bone Burnett, which features new recordings by modern artists including Alabama Shakes, Ashley Monroe, The Avett Brothers, Beck, Elton John, Los Lobos, Nas, Raphael Saadiq, Steve Martin & Edie Brickell and more (click here to pre-order).

Premiering in the U.S. tonight is the British TV movie To Walk Invisible: The Bronte Sisters written and directed by Sally Wainwright and starring Finn Atkins, Chloe Pirrie, Charlie Murphy, Jonathan Pryce and Adam Nagaitis. The film’s original music is composed by John Lunn (Downton Abbey, The Last Kingdom, The White Queen). The drama revolves around the Bronte sisters’ battle to overcome obstacles and publish their novels, which would become some of the greatest in the English language. The movie premiered in the UK this past December and airs in the U.S. as part of PBS’ Masterpiece series. Visit PBS’ official website for more information.
Premiering on Tuesday, March 28, is the BET original series Rebel created by John Singleton & Amani Walker and starring Danielle Moné Truitt, Giancarlo Esposito, Mykelti Williamson, Method Man, and LaTanya Richardson. Raphael Saadiq (Underground, Black Nativity, Underground) is composing the show’s original music and Shie Rozow contributed the music for the first two episodes. ‘Sherlock – The Abominable Bride’ Soundrack Set for Digital Release
Silva Screen Records has announced a digital release for the soundtrack album for the Sherlock episode The Abominable Bride. The album features the music from the feature-length episode composed by David Arnold (Independence Day, Casino Royale, Stargate, Tomorrow Never Dies) & Michael Price (The Inbetweeners 2, Unforgotten). The soundtrack, which is set to be released digitally on March 31, was previously available as an online-order exclusive bonus CD with the release of the Sherlock Season 4 soundtrack. ‘Sherlock’ Season 4 Soundtrack Details
The full details of the latest soundtrack album for the BBC original series Sherlock have been announced. The album features the original music from the show’s fourth season composed by David Arnold (Independence Day, Casino Royale, Stargate, Shaft, Tomorrow Never Dies) and Michael Price (The Inbetweeners 2). Included is the music from all three episodes, The Six Thatchers and The Lying Detective, which has already been released digitally, as well as the score from The Final Problem, which is being released digitally today and is now available to download on Amazon. The soundtrack will be released this Friday, January 27 by Silva Screen Records and is now available as an import here.

Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross Scoring PBS’ ‘The Vietnam War’
PBS announced today that Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are composing the music for the upcoming docu-series The Vietnam War. The 10-parter directed by Ken Burns (Brooklyn Bridge, The Statue of Liberty) and Lynn Novick (Frank Llyod Wright) also features new music arranged and performed by cellist Yo-Yo Ma and The Silk Road Ensemble. Additional music in the show was composed by David Cieri and Doug Wamble, both of whom are longtime collaborators with Florentine Films. Also featured in the series are more than 120 popular songs by artists including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Simon & Garfunkel, Janis Joplin, Ben E. King, Donovan, Johnny Cash & more.
Soundtrack for ITV’s & PBS’ Victoria’ Released
Dubois Records has released a soundtrack album for the ITV limited series Victoria. The album features the show’s original music composed by Martin Phipps (Woman in Gold, War and Peace, The Keeping Room, Peaky Blinders) and Ruth Barrett (Harry Brown, City of Tiny Lights, Hunted) with vocals from the Mediaeval Baebes choir. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Victoria is created by novelist Daisy Goodwin and stars Jenna Coleman, Rufus Sewell, Alex Jennings, Paul Rhys, Tom Hughes and Peter Firth. The 8-part series follows the early life of Queen Victoria, from her accession to the throne at the age of 18 through to her courtship and marriage to Prince Albert.
Soundtrack Details for ‘Sherlock’ Episodes ‘The Six Thatchers’ and ‘The Lying Detective’
Silva Screen Records will release new soundtrack albums for the BBC hit series Sherlock. The albums feature the original music from the fourth season episodes The Six Thatchers and The Lying Detective composed by David Arnold (Independence Day, Casino Royale, Stargate, Tomorrow Never Dies) and Michael Price (The Inbetweeners 2). The soundtrack for The Six Thatchers will be released digitally on January 2, 2017 (click here to download) and the score for The Lying Detective episode will be coming out on January 9 (visit iTunes to pre-order). An album for the third new episode, The Final Problem, will be released on December 16. The label has previously released soundtracks for the first three seasons and will also release a CD featuring the music from the fourth season in late January. Premiering tonight in the U.S. is the new season of the BBC series The Hollow Crown, which adapts Shakespeare’s history plays set during the time of the Wars of the Roses: Henry VI Part 1, Henry VI Part II and Richard III. Dan Jones (Shadow of the Vampire, Lady Macbeth, Max) has composed the season’s original music. He follows composers Stephen Warbeck, Adam Cork and Adrian Johnston who scored the previous Hollow Crown installments. The 3-parter starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Sturridge, Sophie Okonedo, Keeley Hawes, Hugh Bonneville, Judi Dench & Michael Gambon will premiere in the U.S. on PBS as part of the Great Performances series. Premiering on Wednesday, December 14, is the new Fox drama Star created by Lee Daniels & Tom Donaghy and starring Queen Latifah, Benjamin Bratt, Jude Demorest, Brittany O’Grady and Ryan Destiny.
