Three new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this week:

Opening in most theaters is the superhero movie Shazam! directed by David F. Sandberg and starring Zachary Levi, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Asher Angel, Grace Fulton, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Faithe Herman, Cooper Andrews and Marta Milans. The film’s original music is composed by Benjamin Wallfisch (It, Blade Runner 2049, Hidden Figures). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Also opening wide is the horror thriller Pet Sematary directed by Kevin Kölsch & Dennis Widmyer and starring Jason Clarke, Amy Seimetz, John Lithgow. Christopher Young (Spider-Man 3, Hellraiser, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Drag Me to Hell, Ghost Rider) has composed the film’s original music. Paramount Music has released soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as Starcrawler’s cover of the Ramones’ title song, which plays over the movie’s end credits. ‘The Best of Enemies’ Soundtrack Details

Sony Classical will release the official soundtrack album for the drama The Best of Enemies. The album features the film’s original music composed by Marcelo Zarvos (Fences, Wonder, The Affair, The Good Shepherd, Enough Said). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, April 5 and will be available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. The Best of Enemies is written and directed by Robin Bissell and stars Taraji P. Henson, Sam Rockwell, Babou Ceesay, Anne Heche, Wes Bentley, Nick Searcy, John Gallagher Jr. and Bruce McGill. The movie tells the true story of the unlikely relationship an outspoken civil rights activist and a local Ku Klux Klan leader who reluctantly co-chaired a community summit, battling over the desegregation of schools in Durham, North Carolina during the racially-charged summer of 1971.

Marcelo Zarvos Scoring Cindy Chupack’s Netflix Movie ‘Otherhood’

Marcelo Zarvos (Fences, Wonder, The Good Shepherd, Enough Said, The Door in the Floor) has recently scored the upcoming Netflix original movie Otherhood. The film is directed by Cindy Chupack (I’m Dying Up Here) and stars Angela Bassett, Patricia Arquette, Felicity Huffman, Jake Lacy, Sinqua Walls and Jake Hoffman. The romantic comedy centers on three mothers who leave their suburban life to reconnect with their estranged sons in NYC. Chupack also co-wrote the screenplay with Mark Andrus (As Good As It Gets, Life in a House) based on the novel Whatever Makes You Happy by William Sutcliffe.

Opening in most theaters is the live-action adaptation of Disney’s Dumbo directed by Tim Burton and starring Colin Farrell, Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito, Eva Green, Alan Arkin, Finley Hobbins, Nico Parker, Roshan Seth, Deobia Oparei, Joseph Gatt and Sharon Rooney. The film’s original music is composed by Danny Elfman (Batman, Alice in Wonderland, Spider-Man, The Nightmare Before Christmas). Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as two covers of the song Baby Mine, including an end credits version by Arcade Fire. Also opening wide is the comedy The Beach Bum written and directed by Harmony Korine and starring Matthew McConaughey, Snoop Dogg, Isla Fisher, Stefania Lavie Owen, Zac Efron, Martin Lawrence and Jimmy Buffett. ‘Breakthrough’ Score Album Details

Fox Music will release a score album for the faith-based drama Breakthrough. The album features the film’s original music composed by Marcelo Zarvos (Fences, Wonder, Ray Donovan, The Good Shepherd, Enough Said, The Affair). The soundtrack will be released digitally on April 17 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. As previously reported, Mercury Nashville will release a separate soundtrack featuring songs from and inspired by the movie. Breakthrough is directed by Roxann Dawson and stars Chrissy Metz, Josh Lucas, Topher Grace, Mike Colter, Sam Trammell, Marcel Ruiz and Dennis Haysbert.

‘The Chaperone’ Soundtrack Details

Sony Classical will release a soundtrack album for the period drama The Chaperone. The album features the film’s original music composed by Marcelo Zarvos (Fences, Wonder, The Affair, Ray Donovan, The Good Shepherd, Enough Said). Also included are tracks by The Sundown Stompers, Vince Giordano & The Nighthawks, The Hot Pennies, Adam Nielsen & others. The soundtrack will be released tomorrow, March 29 and will be available to purchase here (digital version) and here (CD version). The Chaperone is directed by Michael Engler, written by Julian Fellowes and stars Elizabeth McGovern, Haley Lu Richardson, Géza Röhrig, Campbell Scott, Andrew Burnap, Victoria Hill, Miranda Otto, Robert Fairchild, Matt McGrath and Blythe Danner. The movie is based on Laura Moriarty’s best-selling novel and centers on a woman whose life is changed forever when she chaperones a young and soon to be famous Louise Brooks to New York in the early 1920s.

Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the comedy A Madea Family Funeral written, directed and produced by Tyler Perry who also stars in the movie with Cassi Davis and Patrice Lovely. Philip White (Boo 2! A Madea Halloween, Nobody’s Fool) has composed the film’s original score and Christopher Lennertz (Ride Along, Horrible Bosses, Lost in Space, Baywatch) has written the themes. Also opening wide is the psychological thriller Greta directed by Neil Jordan and starring Isabelle Huppert, Chloë Grace Moretz, Maika Monroe, Colm Feore and Stephen Rea. Marcelo Zarvos Scoring Roxann Dawson’s ‘Breakthrough’

Marcelo Zarvos is composing the music for the upcoming faith-based drama Breakthrough. The film marks the feature directorial debut of Roxann Dawson who has previously helmed numerous episodes of such shows as The Americans and House of Cards and stars Chrissy Metz, Topher Grace, Mike Colter, Marcel Ruiz, Josh Lucas and Isaac Kragten. The movie is based on Joyce Smith’s book The Impossible: The Miraculous Story of a Mother’s Faith and Her Child’s Resurrection about of the miraculous recovery of her son who fell through a frozen lake in Missouri one winter and was proclaimed lifeless.

Marcelo Zarvos (Fences, Wonder, The Good Shepherd) has recently scored the upcoming HBO documentary What’s My Name – Muhammad Ali. The 2-parter is directed by Antoine Fuqua (Training Day, The Equalizer, The Magnificent Seven) and explores the boxing legend’s greatest triumphs and comebacks through archival footage and never-before-seen photos and footage from private collections of the Ali family and others. Fuqua is also producing the project with LeBron James & Maverick Carter (Warriors of Liberty City), Jamie Salter (Elvis Presley: The Searcher), Paul Wachter, Bill Gerber (A Star Is Born, Gran Torino) and Glen Zipper (Undefeated).
