Mercury Nashville will release a soundtrack album for the faith-based drama Breakthrough. The album features a collection of songs from and inspired by the film, including the original song I’m Standing with You performed by lead actress Chrissy Metz (already coming out tomorrow), as well as tracks by Mickey Guyton, Darius Rucker, Carrie Underwood, Lauren Alaina, Jukebox the Ghost, Adam Hambrick, Pigeon John & others. The soundtrack will be released digitally on April 5 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Breakthrough is directed by Roxann Dawson and also stars Josh Lucas, Topher Grace, Mike Colter, Marcel Ruiz, Sam Trammell and Dennis Haysbert. The movie is based on Joyce Smith’s book The Impossible: The Miraculous Story of a Mother’s Faith and Her Child’s Resurrection and tells the story of the miraculous recovery of her son who fell through a frozen lake in Missouri one winter and was proclaimed lifeless. I can’t wait to see this movie. I saw Chrissy Metz perform the song “I’m Standing By You” on the Acm Music Awards and she dkne a fantastic job. Would love to hear more songs from her. I’ll be going this weekend when the movie comes out to see it!!!!
