Opening in around 300 theaters this weekend is the Irish/Polish drama Wolf written and directed by Nathalie Biancheri and starring George MacKay, Lily Rose-Depp, Eileen Walsh and Paddy Considine. The film’s original score is composed by Stefan Wesolowski (Listen to Me Marlon, Pilsudski). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, as well as an original song written and performed by Rose-Depp today. Opening in around 200 theaters today is the historical drama Benedetta co-written and directed by Paul Verhoeven and starring Virginie Efira, Charlotte Rampling, Lambert Wilson, Daphne Patakia, Olivier Rabourdin andd Herve Pierre. Anne Dudley (The Full Monty, The Crying Game, American History X, Poldark, The Hustle, Black Book) has composed the film’s original music. No soundtrack album has been announced yet. Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the supernatural horror movie Malignant directed by James Wan and starring Annabelle Wallis, Maddie Hasson, George Young, Jacqueline McKenzie, Michole Briana White, Jake Abel and Ingrid Bisu. The film’s original music is composed by Joseph Bishara (Insidious, Annabelle, The Conjuring, The Curse of La Llorona, The Unholy). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last week. Check out our previous article for the full album details and to learn more about the Warner Bros. Pictures release, which is also premiering today on HBO Max.

Also opening wide is the faith-based documentary Show Me The Father directed by Rick Altizer and produced by Alex, Stephen & Shannon Kendrick (known as the Kendrick Brothers). Kyle McCuiston (Like Arrows, Snitches, Less Than 30) has composed the film’s original music. A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score was released earlier this week. Anne Dudley & Dan Gillespie Sells Scoring ‘Everybody’s Talking About Jamie’ Movie Adaptation

Anne Dudley (The Full Monty, The Crying Game, Poldark, American History X) has teamed up with Dan Gillespie Sells to compose the underscore for the upcoming movie musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie. The film is directed by Jonathan Butterell and stars Max Harwood, Sarah Lancashire, Lauren Patel, Sharon Horgan, Shobna Gulati, Ralph Ineson, Adeel Akhtar, Samuel Bottomley and Richard E. Grant. The movie is based on the stage musical of the same title by Tom MacRae & Gillespie Sells and tells the story of an openly gay teenager, living on a council estate in Sheffield, England with ambitions to be a drag queen.

Premiering today is the Netflix original film Christmas on the Square directed by Debbie Allen and starring Dolly Parton, Christine Baranski, Treat Williams, Jeanine Mason, Josh Segarra, Mary Lane Haskell and Jenifer Lewis. The film’s original music is composed by Dolly Parton (who wrote 14 original songs for the project) and conducted by Larry Blank. The holiday musical, which follows a small town “Scrooge” as she’s visited by a rhinestone-bedazzled angel who guides her on a musical journey of redemption, is now available to stream exclusively on Netflix.

Premiering tomorrow, November 23, is the FX and BBC limited series Black Narcissus developed by Amanda Coe based on the novel of the same title by Rumer Godden and starring Gemma Arterton, Alessandro Nivola, Diana Rigg, Aisling Franciosi, Jim Broadbent, Rosie Cavaliero, Patsy Ferran, Karen Bryson, Nila Aalia, Kulvinder Ghir, Chaneil Kular, Gina McKee, Soumil Malla, Dipika Kunwar,and Gianni Gonsalves. The show’s original music is composed by Anne Dudley (The Full Monty, American History X, The Crying Game, Poldark, The Hustle). The show is developed by Amanda Coe (Apple Tree Yard, The Trial of Christine Keeler) based on the best-selling novel by Rumer Godden and stars Gemma Arterton, Alessandro Nivola, Aisling Franciosi, Diana Rigg, Jim Broadbent, Rosie Cavaliero, Karen Bryson, Patsy Ferran, Nila Aalia, Kulvinder Ghir, Chaneil Kular, Dipika Kunwar, Gina McKee, Soumil Malla and Gianni Gonsalves. The 3-part drama is set in Mopu, Himalayas, 1934 and centers on a group of young nuns as they attempt to establish a mission at a remote clifftop palace once known as the ‘House of Women’.

Buffalo Music has released a soundtrack album for the ITV series The Singapore Grip. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Anne Dudley (The Full Monty, The Crying Game, American History X, Poldark, The Hustle, Tristan + Isolde). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here. The Singapore Grip is written by Christopher Hampton (Atonement, Dangerous Liaisons), directed by Tom Vaughan (What Happens in Vegas) and stars Luke Treadaway, David Morrissey, Jane Horrocks, Colm Meaney and Charles Dance. The 6-part drama based on J.G. Farrell’s Booker Prize-winning novel is set during World War II and focuses on a British family living in Singapore at the time of the Japanese invasion.

Earlier this week, Anne Dudley (The Crying Game, The Full Monty, American History X, Poldark) has recorded her score for the upcoming historical drama Benedetta. The film is directed by Paul Verhoeven (Basic Instinct, Total Recall, Starship Troopers) and stars Virginie Efira, Charlotte Rampling, Daphné Patakia, Lambert Wilson, Olivier Rabourdin and Louise Chevillotte. The movie is based on Judith C. Brown’s academic work Immodest Acts: The Life of a Lesbian Nun In Renaissance Italy about controversial 17th Century Italian nun Benedetta Carlini.

‘Poldark’ – The Ultimate Collection Soundtrack to Be Released

Sony Classical will release a new soundtrack album for the BBC drama Poldark. The 3-CD set features selections of the original music from all five seasons of the series composed by Academy Award winner Anne Dudley (The Full Monty, The Crying Game, American History X, Elle, The Hustle). The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically on July 12, 2019. Check back on this page or the pre-order link. The label has previously released two soundtrack albums featuring the composer’s score from the first season of the drama. Poldark is created by Debbie Horsefield and stars Aidan Turner, Tomlinson, Ruby Bentall, Beatie Edney, Jack Farthing and Heida Reed.

Four new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this week:

Opening in most theaters is the  action adventure Pokémon Detective Pikachu directed by Rob Letterman and starring Ryan Reynolds, Justice Smith, Kathryn Newton and Ken Watanabe. The film’s original music is composed by Henry Jackman (Captain America: The Winter Soldier & Civil War, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, X-Men: First Class). Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score (click here for the full album details). Also available now is the original song Carry On performed by Kygo and Rita Ora (click here for more information).

Also opening wide is the comedy The Hustle directed by Chris Addison and starring Anne Hathaway, Rebel Wilson and Alex Sharp. Anne Dudley (The Full Monty, American History X, Poldark, Elle, The Crying Game) has composed the film’s original score. ‘The Hustle’ Soundtrack Details

Sony Classical will release the official soundtrack album for the comedy The Hustle. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Anne Dudley (The Full Monty, American History X, Poldark, Elle, The Crying Game). The soundtrack will be released on May 3 and will be available to download here. A CD version is available to order as an import on Amazon. The Hustle is directed by Chris Addison and stars Anne Hathaway, Rebel Wilson and Alex Sharp. The movie follows two female scam artists, one low rent and the other high class, who team up to take down the dirty rotten men who have wronged them.
