Back Lot Music has released a new soundtrack album for Paul Schrader’s dramatic thriller The Card Counter . The album features the film’s original score composed by Robert Levon Been (of the rock band Black Rebel Motorcycle Club) & Giancarlo Vulcano (Briarpatch, Great News, Modern Persuasion). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out audio samples. BMG has previously released a separate soundtrack featuring Levon Been’s original songs from the movie. The Card Counter is written and directed by Schrader and stars Oscar Isaac, Tye Sheridan, Tiffany Haddish and Willem Dafoe. The movie follows a man whose spartan existence on the casino trail is shattered when he is approached by a vulnerable and angry young man seeking help to execute his plan for revenge on a military colonel.

Weekly Film Music Roundup (September 10, 2021)
Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the supernatural horror movie Malignant directed by James Wan and starring Annabelle Wallis, Maddie Hasson, George Young, Jacqueline McKenzie, Michole Briana White, Jake Abel and Ingrid Bisu. The film’s original music is composed by Joseph Bishara (Insidious, Annabelle, The Conjuring, The Curse of La Llorona, The Unholy). Also opening wide is the faith-based documentary Show Me The Father directed by Rick Altizer and produced by Alex, Stephen & Shannon Kendrick (known as the Kendrick Brothers). Kyle McCuiston (Like Arrows, Snitches, Less Than 30) has composed the film’s original music. A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score was released earlier this week. Geoff Barrow & Ben Salisbury to Score Paul Schrader’s ‘The Card Counter’
Director Paul Schrader has revealed in a recent interview with Vulture that Geoff Barrow is set to compose music for the upcoming thriller The Card Counter. It is expected that the composer will be teaming up with his regular collaborator Ben Salisbury (Annihilation, Ex Machina, Free Fire, Luce) to score the film written and directed by Schrader (First Reformed, Taxi Driver, Affliction) and starring Oscar Isaac, Tiffany Haddish, Tye Sheridan and Willem Dafoe. The movie revolves around a card player on the casino trail who sees a chance at redemption when he’s approached by a young man seeking help to execute his plan for revenge on a military colonel.
