Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the action thriller sequel The Equalizer 2 directed by Antoine Fuqua and starring Denzel Washington, Pedro Pascal, Ashton Sanders, Bill Pullman and Melissa Leo. Harry Gregson-Williams (The Martian, The Chronicles of Narnia, Shrek, Unstoppable, Man on Fire) who previously scored the 2014 original movie has composed the film’s original score. Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music today. Check out our previous news article for the full album details.

Also opening wide is the movie musical Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again directed by Ol Parker and starring Lily James, Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgård, Julie Walters, Dominic Cooper, Amanda Seyfried, Christine Barankski, Jeremy Irvine, Jessica Keenan Wynn Andy Garcia and Cher. The film’s original score is composed by Anne Dudley (The Full Monty, American History X). Polydor Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the movie. Anne Dudley Scoring Chris Addison’s ‘The Hustle’

Anne Dudley is scoring the upcoming comedy The Hustle. The film is directed by Chris Addison (Veep) and stars Rebel Wilson, Anne Hathaway, Alex Sharp, Tim Blake Nelson and Ingrid Oliver. The movie is a remake of 1988’s Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (scored by Miles Goodman) and revolves around a pair of scammers -one low-rent and the other high-class – competing to swindle a naive tech prodigy out of his fortune. Jac Schaeffer (Olaf’s Frozen Adventure) wrote the screenplay.

Anne Dudley has recently recorded her score for the BBC family comedy drama Grandpa’s Great Escape. The film is directed by Elliot Hegarty (The Bad Education Movie) and stars Tom Courtenay, Kit Connor, Jennifer Saunders, Samantha Spiro and David Walliams. The movie is based on an original book by Walliams and tells the story of a World War II flying ace who now suffers from Alzheimer’s disease and when his family can no longer look after him he is moved to an old people’s home called Twilight Tower.

The film’s original music is composed by Johann Johannsson (The Theory of Everything, Sicario, Prisoners). Deutsche Grammophon has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Also opening wide is the comedy Almost Christmas directed by David E. Soundtrack Album for Paul Verhoeven’s ‘Elle’ to Be Released

Sony Classical will release the official soundtrack album for Paul Verhoeven’s psychological thriller Elle. The album features the film’s original music written by Academy Award-winning composer Anne Dudley (The Full Monty, American History X, Poldark, The Crying Game) who previously scored the director’s war drama Black Book. The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 23, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A CD version is set to come out later this year. Elle stars Isabelle Huppert, Laurent Lafitte, Anne Consigny, Charles Berling, Virgine Aefira, Judith Magre, Christian Berkel, Jonas Bloquet, Alice Isaaz and Vimila Pons. The movie follows a powerful, ruthless business woman who survives an assault in her home and takes it upon herself to track down her assailant.

‘Poldark’ Deluxe Edition Soundtrack Announced

Sony Classical will release a deluxe edition soundtrack for the BBC original series Poldark. The album features the show’s original music composed by Anne Dudley (The Full Monty, Black Book, Elle, American History X), including the content of the first soundtrack album for the drama, which was released last year, as well as a new performance of the Poldark theme performed by pianist Lang Lang. Also included are two newly recorded folk songs performed by actress Eleanor Tomlinson that feature in key moments during the series, and a 5-minute suite of the most popular themes from the series. The soundtrack will be released on September 16, 2016.

Anne Dudley is currently recording her score for the upcoming dramatic thriller Elle. The film is directed by Paul Verhoeven and stars Isabelle Huppert. Laurent Lafitte, Charles Berling and Anne Consigny. The movie is based on the novel Oh… by Phillippe Dijan and follows a CEO of a gaming software company who is attacked in her home by an unknown assailant. When it appears that her assailant is not finished with her, she decides to stalk him back. David Birke (13 Sins) has written the screenplay. Saïd Ben Saïd (Carnage, Passion, Maps to the Stars) and Michel Merkt are producing the project.

Anne Dudley is composing the music for the upcoming British drama Away. The film is directed by David Blair (Best Laid Plans) and stars Timothy Spall and Juno Temple. The movie is set in the North English seaside town of Blackpool and follows a widower who saves an orphan on the run from a drug dealer, sparking an unlikely friendship. Roger Hadfield has written the screenplay. Terry Stone (Saving Santa) is producing the project for Gateway Films, alongside Radio Film’s Richard Turner and Mike Knowles.

Premiering tonight is the HBO original series The Brink created by Kim & Roberto Benabib and starring Jack Black, Tim Robbins, Pablo Schreiber, Aasif Mandvi, Maribeth Monroe, Eric Ladin, Esai Morales and Geoff Pierson. David Robbins (Dead Man Walking, Welcome to Me, Bob Roberts) has composed the show’s original music. Also premiering tonight is the HBO comedy Ballers created by Stephen Levinson, executive produced by Mark Wahlberg & Peter Berg and starring Dwayne Johnson, John David Washington, Omar Miller, Donovan Carter, Troy Garity, Rob Corddry, London Brown and Jazmyn Simon. The show doesn’t feature an original score. Scott Vener (Entourage) serves as the project’s music supervisor. Ballers follows a former football superstar who gets his life on track in retirement, while mentoring other current and former players on the business of football. ‘Poldark’ Soundtrack Announced

Sony Classical will release a soundtrack album for the BBC series Poldark. The album features selections from the show’s original music written by Academy Award-winning composer Anne Dudley (The Full Monty, Black Book, American History X). The soundtrack will be released overseas on May 11, 2015 and in the U.S. on June 8. Visit Amazon to pre-order the CD. Poldark is created by Debbie Horsefield and stars Aidan Turner, Eleanor Tomlinson, Ruby Bentall, Beatie Edney, Jack Farthing and Heida Reed. The show based on the novels by Winston Graham centers on Ross Poldark, a redcoat who returns to Cornwall after the American Revolutionary War to discover that his father is dead, his lands are ruined, and his true love is about to marry his first cousin.
