Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the sci-fi drama Arrival directed by Denis Villeneuve and starring Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner and Forest Whitaker. The film’s original music is composed by Johann Johannsson (The Theory of Everything, Sicario, Prisoners). Deutsche Grammophon has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Also opening wide is the comedy Almost Christmas directed by David E. Talbert and starring Kimberly Elise, Danny Glover, John Michael Higgins, Romany Malco, Mo’Nique, JB Smoove, Gabrielle Union, Omar Epps, Nicole Ari Parker and Jessie T. Usher. John Paesano (The Maze Runner, Daredevil, When the Game Stands Tall) has composed the film’s original score. Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the songs from the movie by Four Top, Robin Thicke, Karl Bynes, Etta James, The Commodores & more. ‘Arrival’ Soundtrack Details

The details of the soundtrack album for Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi drama Arrival have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed and produced by Johann Johannsson (The Theory of Everything, Sicario, Prisoners) who worked with several singers and vocal ensembles and combined both classical and avant-garde elements in his compositions for the project. Among those appearing are the Theatre of Voices, conducted by Paul Hillier, and artists such as Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe and Hildur Guonadottir. Also included is Max Richter’s piece On the Nature of Daylight, as featured at the beginning and end of the movie. The soundtrack will be released on November 11, 2016 by Deutsche Grammophon and is now available for pre-order on Amazon.

Deutsche Grammophon to Release ‘Arrival’ Soundtrack

Deutsche Grammophon will release the official soundtrack album for the sci-fi drama Arrival. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee Johann Johannsson (The Theory of Everything, Sicario, Prisoners). Also included is Max Richter’s piece On the Nature of Daylight as featured in the movie. The soundtrack will be released on November 11, 2016. Check back on this page for the full album details. The movie takes place after mysterious spacecraft touch down across the globe and follows an elite team – lead by an expert linguist – that is brought together to investigate.
