Premiering tonight is the Fox television event The Passion hosted by Tyler Perry and starring Yolanda Adams, Seal, Chris Daughtry, Trisha Yearwood, Prince Royce and Jencarlos who are performing contemporary hits such as My Love Is Your Love, Love Can Move Mountains & more. Adam Anders (Glee, Rock of Ages) serves as the project’s music producer. Virgin Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the special. Also premiering tonight is the TV special Ice Age: The Great Egg-Scapade directed by Ricardo Curtis and featuring the voices of Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, Taraji P. Henson, Seth Green, Wendy Williams, Gabriel Iglesias, Lili Estefan, Blake Anderson, Seann William Scott, Josh Peck, Keke Palmer and Queen Latifah. The animated special’s original music is composed by Mark Mothersbaugh (The LEGO Movie, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, The Rugrats Movie, Hotel Transylvania) who previously scored the Ice Age short Ice Age: Cosmic Scat-tastrophe, which played in front of The Peanuts Movie. Anton Sanko Scoring ‘Big Bear’

Anton Sanko is composing the score for the upcoming dark comedy Big Bear. The film is written and directed by Joey Kern who also stars in the film alongside Pablo Schreiber, Adam Brody, Tyler Labine and Zachary Knighton. The movie follows a soon-to-be-married man dumped by his fiancee who reluctantly goes ahead with his bachelor party anyway. Brandon Evans & Patrick Rizzotti (Pride, The Collector) is producing the project with Kern and Luke Edwards. Walt Disney Records to Release ‘Finding Dory’ Soundtrack

Walt Disney Records will release the official soundtrack album for Pixar’s animated feature Finding Dory. The album features the film’s original music composed by Thomas Newman (Wall-E, American Beauty, The Shawshank Redemption, Skyfall, Bridge of Spies) who previously scored 2003’s Finding Nemo. The soundtrack will be released on June 17, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check back on this page for the full album details. Marco Beltrami to Score Jaume Collet-Serra’s ‘The Shallows’

Marco Beltrami has been tapped score the upcoming thriller The Shallows. The film is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (Unknown, Non-Stop, Run All Night, Orphan) and stars Blake Lively and Oscar Jaenada. The movie follows a young woman who is grieving the loss her mother and surfing in an isolated area when she gets stranded on a buoy and a gigantic great white shark comes between her and the shore. Anthony Jaswinski (Vanishing on 7th Street) has written the screenplay. Lynn Harris (The Notebook, Blade: Trinity) and Matti Leshem are producing the project. Read the rest of this entry »

Three new movies are opening nationwide this week:

Opening in most theaters is the sci-fi adventure The Divergent Series: Allegiant directed by Robert Schwentke and starring Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Octavia Spencer, Naomi Watts, Jeff Daniels, Ray Stevenson, Zoë Kravitz, Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort and Maggie Q. The film’s original music is composed by Joseph Trapanese (Oblivion, Straight Outta Compton) who previously scored last year’s Insurgent. Island Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the original end credits song Scars by Tove Lo. Check out our previous article for the full album details.

Already in theaters since this past Wednesday is the drama Miracles From Heaven directed by Patricia Riggen and starring Jennifer Garner, Queen Latifah, Martin Henderson, John Carroll Lynch, Kylie Rogers and Eugenio Derbez. Carlo Siliotto (The Punisher, Fluke, Nomad: The Warrior) who previously collaborated with the director on Under the Same Moon has composed the film’s original music. Madison Gate Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. ‘Despite the Falling Snow’ Soundtrack Details

Cube Soundtracks will release a soundtrack album for the spy thriller Despite the Falling Snow. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Rachel Portman (Emma, The Cider House Rules, Chocolat, Never Let Me Go, The Manchurian Candidate, Race). The soundtrack will be released digitally on April 15, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Christopher Lennertz to Score ‘Bad Moms’

Christopher Lennertz has signed on to score the upcoming comedy Bad Moms. The film is written and directed by Jon Lucas & Scott Moore (21 & Over, writers of The Hangover) and stars Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, Christina Applegate, Jada Pinkett Smith and Kathryn Hahn. The movie follows three moms who embark on a quest to liberate themselves from their mundane life, accidentally landing themselves on a collision course with their children’s school’s PTA president and her blindly devoted clique of “perfect” moms. ‘The Voices’ Soundtrack Released

Varese Sarabande has released a soundtrack album for the dark comedy The Voices. The album features the film’s original music composed by Olivier Bernet (Persepolis, Chicken with Plums). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. The Voices is directed by Marjane Satrapi and stars Ryan Reynolds, Gemma Arterton, Anna Kendrick and Jacki Weaver. The movie centers around a lovable but disturbed factory worker with an evil talking cat and a benevolent talking dog who pursues his office crush, but things turn sinister when she stands him up for a date. ‘Whatcha Gonna Do (It’s Up to You)’ from ‘Agent Carter’ Released

Hollywood Records and Marvel Music have released the original song Whatcha Gonna Do (It’s Up to You) from the ABC drama Agent Carter. The song was written by the show’s composer Christopher Lennertz (Horrible Bosses, Ride Along, Supernatural) and David Zippel for the Season 2 episode A Little Song and Dance, which premiered last month. The track is performed by actors Enver Gjokaj and Hayley Atwell. The song is now available to download on Amazon. ‘Sing Street’ Soundtrack Details

Decca Records will release a soundtrack album for the musical comedy drama Sing Street. The album features the original songs from the film written by director John Carney and Gary Clark. Also included are the other songs from the movie by artists including Adam Levine, The Cure, Motörhead, Duran Duran, The Jam & more. The soundtrack will be released digitally overseas tomorrow, March 18 and in the U.S. next month. Visit Amazon to pre-order the album.
