The team behind the sound mixing of Damien Chazelle’s La La Land has won the award for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing in the Motion Pictures– Live Action category at tonight’s 53rd annual Cinema Audio Society Awards ceremony at the Bunker Hill Ballroom of the OMNI Los Angeles Hotel at California Plaza. Scoring mixer Nicholai Baxter, along with production mixer Steven Morrow, re-recording mixers Andy Nelson & Ai-Ling Lee and ADR mixer David Betancourt received the award for the drama starring Emma Stone & Ryan Gosling and scored by Justin Hurwitz. The other contenders in the category were Doctor Strange, Hacksaw Ridge, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Sully.

Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Guaranteed to top the weekend box office is the animated feature Finding Dory directed by Andrew Stanton and featuring the voices of Ellen DeGeneres, Albert Brooks, Ed O’Neill, Kaitlin Olson, Ty Burrell, Eugene Levy and Diane Keaton. The film’s original music is composed by Thomas Newman (American Beauty, The Shawshank Redemption, Skyfall) who previously scored Pixar’s original film Finding Nemo. Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the end titles song Unforgettable performed by Sia. The full details of the soundtrack album for Pixar’s animated feature Finding Dory have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Thomas Newman (American Beauty, The Shawshank Redemption, Skyfall) who previously scored the original Finding Nemo film, as well as Wall-E for Pixar and director Andrew Stanton. Also included is the end titles song Unforgettable performed by Sia. The soundtrack will be released on June 17, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. ‘Finding Dory’ to Feature Song by Sia
Singer/songwriter Sia has recorded an end titles song for Pixar’s upcoming animated feature Finding Dory. The track, entitled Unforgettable, is a cover of the song written in 1951 by Irving Gordon and most famously performed by Nat King Cole. The track will be featured on the soundtrack album, which also includes Thomas Newman’s original score for the film, which will be released on June 17 and is available for pre-order here.
