Composer Bear McCreary (Godzilla: King of the Monsters, The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica, 10 Cloverfield Lane, Happy Death Day, Colossal, Freaky, God of War) is reteaming with director Jeff Wadlow (Kick-Ass 2, Truth or Dare) on the upcoming survival horror thriller The Devil’s Mouth. The film starring Kathryn Newton, Lana Condor, Gavin Casalegno, Tommi Rose, Nico Hiraga & Tayme Thapthimthong follows a group of college friends on a trip in Thailand who get trapped in an underwater cave system with a bull shark. Old tensions and power struggles resurface as they fight to survive. Aja Gabel and Myung Joh Wesner wrote the screenplay, with revisions by Wadlow. The director is also producing the Amazon MGM Studios & Lionsgate production with Thunder Road Films’ Basil Iwanyk & Erica Lee (John Wick series, Sicario). McCreary has previously collaborated with Wadlow on 2020’s Fantasy Island and 2024’s Imaginary. The Devil’s Mouth will premiere next month on Prime Video.
McCreary also continues to score Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, which will return for its third season on November 11 & Starz’s Outlander: Blood of My Blood, which will return for its second season on September 18, and compose music for Disney+’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians, which has also been renewed for a third season. His other upcoming projects include the video game God of War: Laufey, which is expected to be released in 2027.
