Roger Goula (Next Goal Wins, All That Breathes, Killers Anonymous, The Frankenstein Chronicles, Shark Whisperer, Tiger House, Identicals) has recently scored the upcoming period romantic drama Sense and Sensibility. The film is directed by Georgia Oakley (Blue Jean) and stars Daisy Edgar-Jones, Esmé Creed-Miles, Caitríona Balfe, Frank Dillane, Bodhi Rae Breathnach, Herbert Nordrum, George MacKay and Fiona Shaw. The movie is based on Jane Austen’s classic novel of the same name and follows sisters Elinor & Marianne Dashwood as they navigate love, loss, and financial uncertainty amid the societal expectations of 18th century England. Diana Reid wrote the screenplay. Working Title’s Tim Bevan & Eric Fellner (Atonement, Les Miserables) are producing the project with November Pictures’ India Flint and Kiddo Films’ Jo Wallett (Wicked Little Letters, Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy). Sense and Sensibility will open in UK theaters on September 25, 2026 and will be released in U.S. theaters on October 16 by Focus Features.
Goula’s other recent feature projects include Grant Gee’s Bill Evans biopic Everybody Digs Bill Evans (starring Anders Danielsen Lie, Bill Pullman, Barry Ward & Laurie Metcalf), which premiered at this year’s Berlin Film Festival and has recently been picked up by Cohen Media Group for domestic distribution.
