WaterTower Music has released a new soundtrack album for the Showtime original series Our Cartoon President. The album features the songs from the third season of the show composed by Gabriel Gundacker and performed by the comedy’s cast. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and will be available in other digital music stores soon. The label has previously released a soundtrack featuring the songs from the first two seasons. Our Cartoon President is created by Stephen Colbert, Chris Licht, Matt Lapin, Tim Luecke & R.J. Fried and features the voice talent of Jeff Bergman, Cody Lindquist, William Sadler, Emily Lynne, Gundacker himself, James Adomian, Emily Lynne, Cody Lindquist, John Viener and Griffin Newman.

Soundtrack Album for Showtime’s ‘The Comey Rule’ to Be Released
Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the Showtime limited series The Comey Rule. The album features the show’s original music composed by Henry Jackman (Captain America: The Winter Soldier & Civil War, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, X-Men: First Class, Wreck-It-Ralph). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, December 4 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio clips. The Comey Rule is written and directed by Billy Ray and stars Jeff Daniels, Brendan Gleeson, Michael Kelly, Holly Hunter, Jennifer Ehle, Jonathan Banks, Scoot McNairy, Oona Chaplin, Steven Pasquale, Amy Seimetz, Peter Coyote and Kingsley Ben-Adir. The 2-parter is based on Comey’s book A Higher Loyalty and chronicles the historically turbulent events surrounding the 2016 presidential election and its aftermath.

Premiering tonight is the Showtime documentary My Psychedelic Love Story directed by Errol Morris. The film’s original music is composed by Paul Leonard-Morgan (Limitless, Dredd, Dynasty, Tales from the Loop, Walking with Dinosaurs 3D) who previously collaborated with Morris on the Netflix series Wormwood and the features The B-Side: Elsa Dorfman’s Portrait Photography and American Dharma. The movie, which examines the notorious high priest of LSD Timothy Leary through the eyes of his famed lover Joanna Harcourt-Smith, premiered at this year’s AFI Fest and will debut exclusively on Showtime.
Premiering on Friday, December 4, is the Disney+ original movie Godmothered directed by Sharon Maguire and starring Isla Fisher, Jillian Bell, Jane Curtin, Jillian Shea Spaeder (who also contributed new songs to the project), Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Willa Skye, Santiago Cabrera, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Artemis Pebdani, Stephnie Weir, June Squibb and Carlease Burke. Rachel Portman (Emma, The Cider House Rules, Chocolat) has composed the film’s original score. Will Bates (Unbelievable, Away, I Origins, The Magicians, The Looming Tower, Nightflyers) who has previously scored numerous of Gibney’s documentaries has composed the film’s original music. The movie, which premiered at this year’s Copenhagen International Documentary Festival and also screened at the 2020 Venice Film Festival will debut in the U.S. exclusively on HBO and HBO Max.

The A24 production centers on three astronauts stationed at NASA’s Moon Base Simulator in a remote part of the Arizona desert as they encounter many obstacles including loneliness, self-doubt and their own incompetence. Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the Showtime original series Penny Dreadful: City of Angels. The album features selections of the original score from the show composed and conducted by John Paesano (Daredevil, The Maze Runner, When the Game Stands Tall, Tesla, The Star). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, October 30 and will be available to stream/download here. Penny Dreadful: City of Angels is created by John Logan and stars Natalie Dormer, Daniel Zovatto, Kerry Bishé, Brent Spiner, Amy Madigan, Lin Shaye, Rory Kinnear, Piper Perabo, Thomas Kretschmann, Adam Rodriguez, Lorenza Izzo, Dominic Sherwood, Ethan Peck, Michael Gladis and Nathan Lane. Paul Oakenfold & Michael J. McEvoy Scoring Showtime’s ‘Citizen Bio’
DJ, record producer & composer Paul Oakenfold and Michael J. McEvoy (Me and Orson Welles, Finding Your Feet, Forget Me Not) have teamed up to score the new Showtime documentary Citizen Bio. The film is directed by Trish Dolman (Eco-Pirate: The Story of Paul Watson, Hector and the Search for Happiness) and centers on the nascent biohacking movement and the unconventional scientists and researchers developing alternative medicines to prolong human life and eradicate incurable viruses and diseases. The movie follows the stories of four American biohackers and their relationships with Aaron Traywick, a self-proclaimed biohacker whose life took a tragic turn when he was mysteriously found dead at a meditation spa at the age of 28.
Lorne Balfe Scoring Showtime’s ‘The Reagans’
Composer Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, The LEGO Batman Movie, The Crown, Bad Boys for Life) is reuniting with director Matt Tyrnauer on the upcoming Showtime docu-series The Reagans. The show focuses on the rise and reign of America’s ultimate power couple. The 4-part series explores the many surprisingly unexamined aspects of the Reagan White House, and how Nancy Reagan’s paper-doll image was at odds with the power she ultimately wielded throughout her husband’s presidency. Tyrnauer is also executive producing the project with Corey Reeser and Stephen J. Morrison.
