Composers Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans (Ozark, Boy Erased, The Gift, The White Tiger, Enemy, The Devil All the Time) are reteaming with director Charlie McDowell on the upcoming Netflix original film Windfall. The thriller starring Jason Segel, Lily Collins and Jesse Plemons follows a young couple who arrive at their vacation home, only to find out it’s being robbed. Andrew Kevin Walker (Seven, Sleepy Hollow) wrote the screenplay based on a story by himself, McDowell, Segel and Justin Lader.

Weekly Film Music Roundup (October 22, 2021)
Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the sci-fi epic Dune directed by Denis Villeneuve and starring starring Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Stellan Skarsgård, Josh Brolin, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Dave Bautista and Javier Bardem. The album features the film’s original music composed by Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, Inception, Gladiator, Pirates of the Caribbean, Interstellar, The Lion King, Blade Runner 2049). The film is now also available to stream on HBO Max.
Also opening nationwide is the animated feature Ron’s Gone Wrong directed by Sarah Smith & Jean-Philippe Vine and starring Zach Galifianakis, Jack Dylan Grazer, Justice Smith, Olivia Colman, Ed Helms, Ricardo Hurtado, Rob Delaney, Kylie Cantrall, Marcus Scribner and Thomas Barbusca. Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans (Ozark, Boy Erased, The White Tiger, The Gift, The Devil All the Time, Enemy) are composing the original music for the upcoming Netflix original series Pieces of Her. The show is developed by Charlotte Stoudt based on Karin Slaughter’s best-selling novel of the same title and stars Toni Collette, Bella Heathcote, David Wenham, Jessica Barden, Joe Dempsie, Jacob Scipio and Omari Hardwick. The dramatic thriller centers on a young woman whose view of her mother is forever changed when an afternoon outing explodes into violence.

Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans (Ozark, Boy Erased, The Gift, The White Tiger, The Devil All the Time, Enemy) have composed the original music for the upcoming National Geographic documentary Cousteau. The film is directed by Liz Garbus (What Happened, Miss Simone?, Lost Girls, Bobby Fischer Against the World) and focuses on the world’s most famous ocean explorer, Jacques Cousteau, who revolutionized our understanding of the natural world, giving mankind the resources to explore the ocean with the first open-circuit, self-contained underwater breathing apparatus. The movie explores the renowned explorer’s life, revealing the man behind some of the world’s most significant contributions to marine conservation.

Premiering today is the the National Geographic event series Genius: Aretha created by Suzan-Lori Parks and starring Cynthia Erivo, Courtney B. The show’s original score is composed by Terence Blanchard (BlacKkKlansman, Inside Man, Da 5 Bloods, Malcolm X). Raphael Saadiq (Lovecraft County, Insecure) serves as the project’s executive music producer and Hans Zimmer & Lorne Balfe have provided a new version of their Emmy Award-nominated main titles theme. Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans (Ozark, Boy Erased, The Gift, Enemy, Martha Marcy May Marlene, The White Tiger, The Devil All the Time) have composed the original score for the new HBO original documentary Tina. The film is directed by Dan Lindsay & T.J. Martin (Undefeated) and centers on the life and career of musical icon Tina Turner. The movie, which features interviews with the singer herself, Angela Bassett, Oprah Winfrey, journalist Kurt Loder, playwright Katori Hall, hr husband and former record executive Erwin Bach, among others, a charts her improbable rise to early fame, her personal and professional struggles throughout her life and her even more improbable resurgence as a global phenomenon in the 1980s.

Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the Netflix original film The White Tiger. The album features the movie’s original score composed by Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans (Ozark, Enemy, The Gift, The Outsider, The Devil All the Time, Boy Erased, Martha Marcy May Marlene). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, January 22 and will be available to stream/download here. The White Tiger is written and directed by Ramin Bahrani and stars Adarsh Gourav, Rajkummar Rao, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Mahesh Manjrekar and Vijay Maurya. The movie is based on the best-selling novel by Aravind Adiga and tells the story of an ambitious driver of a rich Indian couple who uses his wit and cunning to escape from poverty and become an entrepreneur.
