Premiering tonight is the new FX original series Pose created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk & Steven Canals and starring Dominique Jackson, Mj Rodriguez, Indya Moore, Angelica Ross, Hallie Sahar, Ryan Jamaal Swain, Billy Porter, Dyllon Burnside, Evan Peters, Kate Mara and James Van Der Beek. The show’s original music is composed by Mac Quayle (Mr. Robot, American Crime Story, American Horror Story, Feud). Also premiering tonight is the HBO original series Succession created by Jesse Armstrong and starring Brian Cox, Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook, Nicholas Braun, Matthew Macfadyen, Hiam Abbas, Alan Ruck, Rob Yang, Parker Sawvers, and Peter Friedman. Nicholas Britell (Moonlight, Battle of the Sexes, Free State of the Jones) is composing the show’s original music. W.G. Snuffy Walden, Patrick Rose & Noah Sorota Scoring NBC’s ‘Reverie’

W.G. Snuffy Walden, Patrick Rose and Noah Sorota have composed the original score for the new NBC drama Reverie. The show is created by Mickey Fisher (Extant) and stars Sarah Shahi, Dennis Haysbert, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Kathryn Morris and Jessica Lu. The series follows a former detective specializing in human behavior who is brought in when the launch of an advanced virtual reality program has dangerous and unintended consequences. Fisher is also executive producing the Universal Television and Amblin Television production with Tom Szentgyorgyi (The Mentalist), Darryl Frank & Justin Falvey (The Americans, The Borgias) and Brooklyn Weaver (Run All Night).

Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Expected to top the weekend box office is the thriller Dunkirk directed by Christopher Nolan and starring Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance, Kenneth Branagh, Cillian Murphy, Fionn Whitehead, Aneurin Barnard, Harry Styles, James D’Arcy, Jack Lowden and Barry Keoghan. The film’s original music is composed by Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, Inception, Interstellar, Gladiator, The Lion King). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Check out our previous article for the full album details.

Also opening wide is the fantasy adventure Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets directed by Luc Besson and starring Dane DeHaan, Cara Delevingne, Clive Owen, Rihanna, Ethan Hawke, Herbie Hancock, Kris Wu and Rutger Hauer. Alexandre Desplat (The Grand Budapest Hotel, The King’s Speech, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) has composed the film’s original music. EuropaCorp has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as songs by Alexiane, Julien Rey, David Bowie, Bob Marley & The Wailers & more. ‘The Gracefield Incident’ Soundtrack Details

A soundtrack will be released for the horror thriller The Gracefield Incident. The album features the film’s original music composed by Noah Sorota (Falling Skies, Jinn). The soundtrack will be released digitally on July 20, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. The Gracefield Incident is written and directed by Mathieu Ratthe who also stars in the movie alongside Kimberly Laferriere, Victor Andres Turgeon-Trelles, Juliette Gosselin, Alexandre Nachi and Laurence Dauphinais. The movie revolves around a video game editor who embeds an iPhone camera into his prosthetic eye to secretly record and document a weekend with friends in a luxurious mountain top cabin.

winter-soldierGuaranteed to top the weekend box office is Captain America: The Winter Soldier directed by Anthony & Joe Russo and starring Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Anthony Mackie and Robert Redford. The film’s music is composed by Henry Jackman (X-Men: First Class, Wreck-It-Ralph. under-the-skinOpening in limited release is the Under the Skin directed by Jonathan Glazer, based on a novel by Michael Faber and starring Scarlett Johansson. Mica Levi from the experimental pop music band Micachu and the Shape has composed the film’s original music. Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring Levi’s score earlier this week. Noah Sorota Recording the Score for ‘Jinn’

jinnNoah Sorota has composed the music for the supernatural thriller Jinn. The composer’s score was recorded with a full orchestra on the Eastwood Scoring Stage at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, CA. Sorota also conducted the orchestra. Check out a number of videos from the recording sessions of the score after the jump. Sorota is best known as the composer of the TNT hit show Falling Skies, which is coming back for a fourth season this summer. Jinn is written and directed by Ajmal Zaheer Ahmad and stars Dominic Rains, Ray Park, William Atherton, Faran Tahir and Serinda Swan. The movie revolves around the jinn, mythological creatures created at the same time as men and the angels and follows an automotive designer and his wife who find themselves threatened by the supernatural forces.

In our final part of our roundup of this summer’s television scores, we’ll take a look at the shows on TNT, Syfy, HBO and Lifetime. Also check out Part 1 and Part 2 of the series for the composers on all the other major network and cable shows of the summer.

TNT:

The most successful new show of the summer on TNT is the sci-fi series Falling Skies. The project starring Noah Wyle, Moon Bloodgood, Drew Roy, Sarah Carter and Maxim Knight is produced by Steven Spielberg and centers on an alien invasion of Earth and the resistance formed by the survivor. Also producing are Graham Yost (Justified) and Robert Rodat (writer of Saving Private Ryan). Noah Sorota is scoring the show. Noah Sorota Scoring ‘Falling Skies’

Noah Sorota is scoring the upcoming sci-fi series Falling Skies. The show is produced by Steven Spielberg and centers on an alien invasion of Earth and the resistance formed by the survivor. Also producing are Graham Yost (Justified) and Robert Rodat (writer of Saving Private Ryan). Falling Skies stars Noah Wyle, Moon Bloodgood, Drew Roy, Sarah Carter and Maxim Knight. The pilot is directed by Carl Franklin (The Pacific, Out of Time, High Crimes). The show will premiere with a two-hour episode on June 19, 2011 on TNT.
