A soundtrack album has been released for the indie coming-of-age drama Jinn. The album features the film’s original music composed by Jesi Nelson. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio clips. Jinn is written and directed by Nijla Mu’min and stars Zoe Renee, Simone Missick, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Dorian Missick, Hisham Tawfiq and Kelly Jenrette. The movie revolves around a 17-year old carefree black girl, whose world is turned upside down when her mother, a popular meteorologist, abruptly converts to Islam and becomes a different person, prompting Summer to reevaluate her identity.

Guaranteed to top the weekend box office is Captain America: The Winter Soldier directed by Anthony & Joe Russo and starring Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Anthony Mackie and Robert Redford. The film’s music is composed by Henry Jackman (X-Men: First Class, Wreck-It-Ralph. Opening in limited release is the Under the Skin directed by Jonathan Glazer, based on a novel by Michael Faber and starring Scarlett Johansson. Mica Levi from the experimental pop music band Micachu and the Shape has composed the film’s original music. Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring Levi’s score earlier this week. Noah Sorota Recording the Score for ‘Jinn’
Noah Sorota has composed the music for the supernatural thriller Jinn. The composer’s score was recorded with a full orchestra on the Eastwood Scoring Stage at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, CA. Sorota also conducted the orchestra. Check out a number of videos from the recording sessions of the score after the jump. Sorota is best known as the composer of the TNT hit show Falling Skies, which is coming back for a fourth season this summer. Jinn is written and directed by Ajmal Zaheer Ahmad and stars Dominic Rains, Ray Park, William Atherton, Faran Tahir and Serinda Swan. The movie revolves around the jinn, mythological creatures created at the same time as men and the angels and follows an automotive designer and his wife who find themselves threatened by the supernatural forces.
