Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the British comedy drama Downton Abbey: A New Era directed by Simon Curtis and starring Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, Maggie Smith, Michelle Dockery, Penelope Wilton, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Phyllis Logan, Joanne Froggatt, Hugh Dancy, Laura Haddock and Dominic West. The film’s original music is composed by John Lunn (Jamestown,The Last Kingdom, Grantchester, Shetland, Belgravia) who previously scored the all episodes of the Downton Abbey TV series and the first movie adaptation. Also opening wide this week is the horror drama Men written and directed by Alex Garland Garland and starring Jessie Buckley, Rory Kinnear and Paapa Essiedu. Ben Salisbury & Geoff Barrow (Ex Machina, Devs, Annihilation, Luce, Hanna, Archive 81, Free Fire) have composed the film’s original music. Lakeshore & Invada Records have released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score today. ‘Downton Abbey: A New Era’ Soundtrack Album Details

Decca Records will release the official soundtrack album for the drama Downton Abbey: A New Era. The album features the film’s original music composed by Emmy Award winner John Lunn (The Last Kingdom, Jamestown, Grantchester, Shetland, Belgravia) who previously scored the first Downton Abbey movie and all episodes of the TV series and recorded his score with the Chamber Orchestra of London. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, April 29 and will be available to stream/download here. A CD version is available to order as an import on Amazon. John Lunn is currently recording his score for the upcoming drama Downton Abbey: A New Era. The film is directed by Simon Curtis (Woman in Gold, My Week with Marilyn) and stars original cast members Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, Maggie Smith, Michelle Dockery, Penelope Wilton, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter,Phyllis Logan, Robert James-Collier, Lesley Nicol, Sophie McShera and Joanne Froggatt . They are joined by Hugh Dancy, Laura Haddock, Nathalie Baye, Dominic West, and Jonathan Zaccaï. Series creator Julian Fellowes wrote the screenplay.

‘Belgravia’ Soundtrack Album to Be Released

Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the ITV/Epix original series Belgravia. The album features selections of the original music composed by Emmy Award winner John Lunn (Downton Abbey, Grantchester, Shetland, Jamestown, The Last Kingdom). The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, July 17 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Belgravia is created by Julian Fellowes and stars Tamsin Greig, Philip Glenister, Harriet Walter, Alice Eve, Ella Purnell, Tara Fitzgerald, Richard Goulding, Adam James, James Fleet, Paul Ritter and Saskia Reeves. The drama tells a story of secrets and scandals amongst the upper echelon of London society in the 19th Century.

Premiering in the U.S. tonight is the British drama Belgravia created by Julian Fellowes and starring Tamsin Greig, Philip Glenister, Harriet Walter, Alice Eve, Tara Fitzgerald, Ella Purnell, Richard Goulding, James Fleet, Adam James, Paul Ritter and Saskia Reeves. The show’s original music is composed by John Lunn (Downton Abbey, The Last Kingdom, Grantchester, Shetland, Jamestown). Also premiering in the U.S. tonight is The Missing spin-off Baptiste created by Harry & Jack Williams and starring Tchéky Karyo, Tom Hollander, Jessica Raine, Clare Calbraith, Trystan Gravelle,, Anastasia Hille, Alec Secăreanu and Nicholas Woodeson. Dominik Scherrer (Ripper Street, Requiem, The City and the City, The Widow, Primeval) who also scored all episodes of The Missing is composing the show’s original music. The drama is set in 19th Century London and tellls a story of secrets and dishonor in the upper echelon of London society.

Three new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the sci-fi drama Ad Astra directed by James Gray and starring Brad Pitt, Tommy Lee Jones, Ruth Negga, Liv Tyler and Donald Sutherland. The film’s original music is composed by Max Richter (The Leftovers, Mary Queen of Scots, Hostiles, Waltz with Bashir). Deutsche Grammophon has released a digital single featuring a track of the composer’s score (click here for more details). Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, The Lego Batman Movie) is credited as additional music composer (click here to listen to a track from Balfe’s score).

Also opening wide is the action movie Rambo: Last Blood directed by Adrian Grunberg and starring Sylvester Stallone, Paz Vega, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Adrianna Barraza, Yvette Monreal, Genie Kim, Joaquin Cosio and Oscar Jaenada. Brian Tyler (Iron Man 3, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Fast & Furious, Crazy Rich Asians) who has previously scored 2008’s Rambo has composed the film’s original music. Soundtrack Album for ‘The Last Kingdom’ to Be Released

Sony Classical will release the first soundtrack album for the British historical drama series The Last Kingdom. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Emmy Award winner John Lunn (Downton Abbey, The White Queen, The White Princess, Jamestown) and Eivør. The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 9, 2018 (click here to pre-order). A CD version coming out on November 23 and will be available to pre-order as an import on Amazon within the next couple of days. The Last Kingdom is based on The Saxon Stories novels by Bernard Cornwell and stars Alexander Dreymon, David Dawson, Emily Cox, Ian Hart, Tobias Santelmann, Simon Kunz and Joseph Millson.

Silva Screen Records has announced a soundtrack album for the BBC drama series Shetland. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Emmy Award winner John Lunn (Downton Abbey, The Last Kingdom, The White Queen, The White Princess). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, March 23 and physically on April 20. Visit Amazon to purchase the album and to listen to audio samples. Shetland is based on Ann Cleeves’ novels and stars Douglas Henshall, Alison O’Donnell, Steven Robertson, Lewis Howden, Stewart Porter, Erin Armstrong, Mark Bonnar, Anne Kidd and Julie Graham. The series revolves around detective inspector Jimmy Perez and his team as they investigate crimes within the close knit island community of Shetland.
