Premiering tonight is the Showtime original mini-series Guerrilla created John Ridley and starring Idris Elba, Frieda Pinto, Babou Ceesay, Rory Kinnear, Nathaniel Martello-White, Daniel Mays, Denise Gough, Brandon Scott, Zawe Ashton and Nicholas Pinnock. The 6-parter’s original music is composed by Max Richter (The Leftovers, Waltz with Bashir, Taboo, Miss Sloane, Disconnect). Also premiering tonight is The White Queen sequel The White Princess based on the novel by Philippa Gregory and starring Jodie Comer, Jacob Collins-Levy, Michelle Fairley, Essie Davis, Vincent Regan, Rebecca Benson, Rhys Connah, Suki Waterhouse, Patrick Gibson and Joanne Whalley. John Lunn (Downton Abbey, The Last Kingdom) who previously scored The White Queen has composed the music for the 8-parter. The drama air in the U.S. Sunday nights on Starz. Premiering in the U.S. tonight is the British TV movie To Walk Invisible: The Bronte Sisters written and directed by Sally Wainwright and starring Finn Atkins, Chloe Pirrie, Charlie Murphy, Jonathan Pryce and Adam Nagaitis. The film’s original music is composed by John Lunn (Downton Abbey, The Last Kingdom, The White Queen). The drama revolves around the Bronte sisters’ battle to overcome obstacles and publish their novels, which would become some of the greatest in the English language. Premiering on Tuesday, March 28, is the BET original series Rebel created by John Singleton & Amani Walker and starring Danielle Moné Truitt, Giancarlo Esposito, Mykelti Williamson, Method Man, and LaTanya Richardson. John Lunn is set to compose the music for the upcoming British series Jamestown. The show is written by Bill Gallagher (The Paradise, Blood) and stars Max Beesley, Jason Flemyng, Dean Lennox-Kelly, Naomi Battrick, Sophie Rundle, Shaun Dooley, Stuart Martin, Steven Waddington, Matt Stokoe, Burn Gorman and Niamh Walsh. The 8-part drama is set in 1619 and follows the British settlers as they establish a community in the New World. Carnival Films’ Gareth Neame & Nigel Marchant are executive producing the project with Richard Fell.

‘Downton Abbey’ Ultimate Collection Soundtrack Announced

Decca Classics will release a new soundtrack album for the hit drama Downton Abbey. The album features music all six seasons of the show written by Emmy Award-winning composer John Lunn (The Last Kingdom, Grantchester, The White Queen). The Ultimate Collection will be released as a 2-CD set on December 4, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Downton Abbey is created by Julian Fellowes and stars Samantha Bond, Hugh Bonneville, Jessica Brown Findlay, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Raquel Cassidy, Brendan Coyle, Tom Cullen, Michelle Dockery, Kevin Doyle, Siobhan Finneran, Michael Fox, Joanne Froggatt, Matthew Goode, Thomas Howes and Lily James. The period drama aired over the last five years in the UK on ITV and in the U.S. on PBS.

Home Fires based on the book Jambusters by Julie Summers is set during World War II and follows a group of inspirational women in a rural Cheshire community. John Lunn to Score BBC America’s ‘The Last Kingdom’

John Lunn has been tapped to score the upcoming historical drama series The Last Kingdom. The show stars Alexander Dreymon, Rutger Hauer, David Dawson, Emily Cox, Matthew Macfadyen, Ian Hart, Tobias Santelmann, Thomas W. Gabrielsson, Peter Gantzler, Joseph Millson, Alexandre Willaume, Rune Temte and Henning Valin Jakobsen. The 8-parter based on Bernard Cornwell’s best-selling novels The Saxon Stories is set during the reign of Alfred the Great, who as King of Wessex fought off a Viking invasion and follows the son of a Saxon nobleman who is orphaned by the Vikings and then kidnapped and raised as one of their own. Stephen Butchard has adapted the material for the small screen.

Silva Screen Records will release a soundtrack album for the British mini-series The White Queen. The album features selections from the series written by Emmy Award-winning composer John Lunn (Downton Abbey). The soundtrack will be released on June 30, 2014. The White Queen is based on Philippa Gregory’s historical novel series The Cousins’ War and stars Rebecca Ferguson, Max Irons, Janet McTeer, James Frain, Amanda Hale and David Oakes. The show about three women in their quest for power in the 15th Century premiered in the U.S. last year on Starz and was honored with three nominations at this year’s Golden Globe Awards. The drama’s first season is now available on Blu-ray and DVD and a second season is currently under consideration.
