Music Box Records has announced a new soundtrack album featuring two newly remastered scores composed and conducted by Academy Award winner Georges Delerue (Platoon, Steel Magnolias, A Little Romance, Twins, The Day of the Dolphin, Beaches, Joe Versus the Volcano). The album includes the composer’s music from the 1983 French drama One Deadly Summer (L’été meurtrier) directed by Jean Becker, based on Sébastien Japrisot’s novel and starring Isabelle Adjani, Alain Souchon, Suzanne Flon & Maria Machado, as well as his score for 1991’s The White Queen (La reine blanche) written and directed by Jean-Loup Hubert and starring Catherine Deneuve, Jean Carmet, Bernard Giraudeau & Richard Bohringer. The CD, which is being released as part of the 100th anniversary celebration of Delerue’s birth and is limited to 750 copies, is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out the track list and listen to audio samples.

‘The White Queen’ Soundtrack Details
Silva Screen Records will release a soundtrack album for the British mini-series The White Queen. The album features selections from the series written by Emmy Award-winning composer John Lunn (Downton Abbey). The soundtrack will be released on June 30, 2014. The White Queen is based on Philippa Gregory’s historical novel series The Cousins’ War and stars Rebecca Ferguson, Max Irons, Janet McTeer, James Frain, Amanda Hale and David Oakes. The show about three women in their quest for power in the 15th Century premiered in the U.S. last year on Starz and was honored with three nominations at this year’s Golden Globe Awards. The drama’s first season is now available on Blu-ray and DVD and a second season is currently under consideration.

Premiering on Wednesday, August 7 in the US is the British mini-series Broadchurch created by Chris Chibnall (United, Torchwood) and starring David Tennant, Olivia Colman, Vicky McClure, Jodie Whittaker, Andrew Buchan, Will Mellor and Arthur Darvill. Ólafur Arnald (Another Happy Day) has composed the original score for the series. Mercury Records has released a soundtrack EP featuring the composer’s music. ‘Burton & Taylor’ to Feature Music by John Lunn
John Lunn has composed the score for the BBC original movie Burton & Taylor. The film is directed by Richard Laxton (An Englishman in New York, Effie Gray) and stars Dominic West as Richard Burton and Helena Bonham Carter as Elizabeth Taylor. The movie centers on the famously tumultuous relationship of the Hollywood power couple during their final performance together in Noel Coward’s Private Lives in 1983. William Ivory (Made in Dagenham, The Closer You Get) has written the script. Jessica Pope (Silent Witness) is executive producing the project and Lachlan MacKinnon serves as producer. Burton & Taylor will premiere this Monday, July 22, on BBC Four in the UK and this fall on BBC America.
