Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the Prime Video original series We Were Liars. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Michael Suby (The Butterfly Effect, The Vampire Diaries, Pretty Little Liars, The Originals, Legacies, God Friended Me, Roswell, New Mexico, Ghosts of War). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, July 11 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Lockhart’s bestselling novel of the same name and stars Emily Alyn Lind, Shubham Maheshwari, Esther McGregor, Caitlin FitzGerald, Mamie Gummer, Joseph Zada, Candice King, Rahul Kohli and David Morse. The mystery thriller revolves around a teenage girl suffering from amnesia after a mysterious accident as she returns to Beechwood, an island off Martha’s Vineyard, seeking answers.

Opening on VOD today is the British/Australian drama Dirt Music directed by Gregor Jordan and starring Kelly Macdonald, Garrett Hedlund and David Wenham. The film’s original score is composed by Craig Armstrong (Moulin Rouge!, The Incredible Hulk, Romeo + Juliet, The Great Gatsby, Love Actually). No word on a soundtrack release. Enis Rotthoff (Guns Akimbo, Love Sarah, Wetlands, Look Who’s Back) has composed the film’s original music. No soundtrack album has been announced. ‘Ghosts of War’ Soundtrack Details
Filmtrax will release the official soundtrack album for the horror thriller Ghosts of War. The album features the film’s original music composed by Michael Suby (The Butterfly Effect, The Vampire Diaries, Pretty Little Liars, Roswell, New Mexico, Kyle XY). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, July 17 and will be available to stream/download here. Ghosts of War is written and directed by Eric Bress and stars Brenton Thwaites, Alan Ritchson, Skylar Astin, Theo Rossi, Kyle Gallner, Billy Zane and Shaun Toub. The movie follows five battle-hardened American soldiers who are assigned to hold a French Chateau near the end of World War II, when they encounter a supernatural enemy far more terrifying than anything seen on the battlefield.

Premiering tonight is the Showtime original mini-series Guerrilla created John Ridley and starring Idris Elba, Frieda Pinto, Babou Ceesay, Rory Kinnear, Nathaniel Martello-White, Daniel Mays, Denise Gough, Brandon Scott, Zawe Ashton and Nicholas Pinnock. The 6-parter’s original music is composed by Max Richter (The Leftovers, Waltz with Bashir, Taboo, Miss Sloane, Disconnect). The CW’s ‘Containment’ to Feature Music by Michael Suby
Michael Suby is set to score the upcoming CW series Containment. The show is created by Julie Plec based on the Belgian TV series Cordon and stars David Gyasi, Christina Moses, Chris Wood, Hanna Mangan-Lawrence, Kristen Gutoskie, George Young, Claudia Black and Trevor St. John. The drama takes place after a mysterious and deadly epidemic breaks out in Atlanta and a vast urban quarantine is quickly enforced, forcing those stuck on the inside to fight for their lives. Plec is also executive producing the Warner Bros TV, My So-Called Company and Eyeworks production with David Nutter (The X-Files, Game of Thrones, Disturbing Behavior) who also directed the pilot episode.

Michael Suby to Score The CW’s ‘The Originals’
Michael Suby is set to score the upcoming CW series The Originals. The show created by Julie Plec is a spin-off of the network’s hit series The Vampire Diaries and stars Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies, Claire Holt, Phoebe Tonkin, Charles Michael Davis, Daniella Pineda, Leah Pipes and Danielle Campbellas. The drama follows the Original family, the first existing vampires in the world that was first seen in the second season. Plec is executive producing the Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios production with Leslie Morgenstein (Gossip Girl) and Gina Girolamo (The Lying Game). Suby whose previous credits include the feature The Butterfly Effect and ABC Family’s Kyle XY and Pretty Little Liars has scored all episodes of The Vampire Diaries and will also return to score the show’s fifth season this fall.

In our second part of this summer’s roundup of television scores, we’re taking a look at the new and returning shows on FX, ABC Family and Starz. Also visit our previous article featuring shows on ABC, NBC, CBS, USA and Showtime.
FX:
The only new show this summer on FX is the comedy Wilfred. The show stars Elijah Wood as a depressed and unemployed worker who imagines seeing a man in a dog costume. Jason Gann and Fiona Gubelmann are co-starring and guest stars include Ed Helms, Chris Klein and Rashida Jones. Jim Dooley (Pushing Daisies, Obsessed) is providing the score for the show. Wilfred is based on an Australian series with the same title and is adapted by David Zuckerman (Family Guy, American Dad). Randall Einhorn (The Office, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) directed the pilot. The show’s first season of 13 episodes is currently airing every Thursday night on FX.
