Netflix Music has released a soundtrack album for the Japanese Netflix original series Beyond Goodbye. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Aska Matsumiya (After Yang, Bruised, Skate Kitchen, Betty, I’m Your Woman, The Spiderwick Chronicles, Selah and the Spades). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also listen to a track (Forbidden Love) from the composer’s score after the jump. Beyond Goodbye is written by Yoshikazu Okada, directed by Hiroshi Kurosaki and stars Kasumi Arimura, Kentaro Sakaguchi, Toma Ikuta, Eita Okuno, Yuri Nakamura, Ayumi Ito, Kanji Furutachi and Yoshiko Miyazaki. The romance drama follows a woman who – after losing the love of her life in an accident on the day he proposed to her – feels an inexplicable connection to a stranger who, by a twist of fate, received his heart and memories.

Apple TV+’s ‘Omnivore’ to Feature Music by Alex Somers, Aska Matsumiya, Oliver Coates, Dan Deacon & Others
The full composer line-up of the new Apple TV+ original documentary series Omnivore has been revealed. The show is developed by Cary Joji Fukunaga (No Time to Die, True Detective), created and narrated by René Redzepi and follows the chef and co-owner of world-renowned restaurant Noma as he takes viewers on an immersive journey into the world of food. Adrian Younge & Ali Shaheed Muhammad (Luke Cage, Boogie, Sugar, Reasonable Doubt) have contributed the main title theme to the project. Alex Somers (Honey Boy, Causeway, Captain Fantastic, Fresh, Under the Bridge) has composed the music for the episode Chile directed by Drea Cooper, Aska Matsumiya (After Yang, Bruised, Betty, The Spiderwick Chronicles, Skate Kitchen, I’m Your Woman) has scored the episode Tuna directed by Mateo Willis, Oliver Coates (Aftersun, Mary & George, The Stranger, Occupied City) has provided the music for the episode Salt directed by Cooper and Dan Deacon (Hustle, The Changeling, Ascension, Twixt) has scored the episode Banana directed by David Charles Rodrigues.
Soundtrack Album for the Roku Channel’s ‘The Spiderwick Chronicles’ TV Series to Be Released
Paramount Music will release a soundtrack album for the Roku original series The Spiderwick Chronicles. The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by Aska Matsumiya (After Yang, Bruised, Betty, Skate Kitchen, I’m Your Woman, Phoenix Rising, Selah and the Spades). Cho Young-wuk (Oldboy, Lady Vengeance, The Little Drummer Girl, The Handmaiden, Decision to Leave, Thirst) has composed the show’s original music. Aska Matsumiya (Bruised, After Yang, Betty, Skate Kitchen, Phoenix Rising, I’m Your Woman, Selah and the Spades) has recently scored the upcoming Roku Channel original series The Spiderwick Chronicles. The show is based on the bestselling novels by Tony DiTerlizzi & Holly Black (which have previously been adapted into a feature film scored by James Horner) and stars Joy Bryant, Christian Slater, Noah Cottrell, Mychala Lee, Lyon Daniels and Jack Dylan Grazer. The fantasy adventure follows the coming-of-age story of the Grace Family as they move from New York to Michigan and into their family’s ancestral home, where they uncover mysteries hidden inside their great grandfather’s estate and discover a secret, fantastical world around them.
Aska Matsumiya to Score Netflix’s ‘Beyond Goodbye’
Netflix announced this week that Aska Matsumiya (After Yang, Skate Kitchen, Bruised, Betty, I’m Your Woman, Selah and the Spades) has been hired to score the streamer’s upcoming Japanese original series Beyond Goodbye. The show is written by Yoshikazu Okada (If Cats Disappeared from the World, The 8-Year Engagement), directed by Hiroshi Kurosaki (Gift of Fire, Second Virginity) and stars Kasumi Arimura and Kentaro Sakaguchi. The romantic drama follows a young woman who suddenly loses her fiancé in a traffic accident and later meets a man who strangely reminds her of her ex-partner, not knowing he had received her fiancé’s heart a few months prior to their encounter.
Aska Matsumiya Scoring Steve Buscemi’s ‘The Listener’
Aska Matsumiya (Skate Kitchen, Betty, Bruised, After Yang, I’m Your Woman, Selah and the Spades) has composed the original music for the upcoming drama The Listener. The film is directed by actor Steve Buscemi (who previously helmed such features as Lonesome Jim & Interview) and stars Tessa Thompson as a helpline volunteer who is part of the small army that gets on the phone every night across America, fielding calls from all kinds of people feeling lonely, broken, hopeless, and worried.
‘Home’ Season 2 Soundtrack Album Released
Lakeshore Records has released a new soundtrack album for the Apple TV+ docu-series Home.
