Premiering in the U.S. today is the Norwegian mini-series Atlantic Crossing written by Alexander Eik & Linda May Kallestein, directed by Eik and starring Sofia Helin, Kyle MacLachlan and Tobias Santelmann. The show’s original music is composed by Raymond Enoksen (Haunted, Ice Road Rescue). Dreamscore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last year when the 8-part drama premiered overseas. Also premiering tonight is the Fox TV special Malika the Lion Queen directed by Karin Slater and narrated by Angela Bassett. Jasha Klebe (Planet Earth II, The Black Godfather, Winter on Fire: Ukraine’s Fight for Freedom, Medal of Honor, Challenger Disaster: Lost Tapes) has composed the original music for the special. The documentary, which follows a powerful pride of lions in South Africa’s Kruger National Park and explores the exhilarating and harrowing life of lioness Malika, will air on Fox tonight. Soundtrack Album for HBO Max’s ‘Made for Love’ Announced

Composer and music producer Keefus Ciancia (Killing Eve, London Spy, Nashville, The Fall, Diana, The Motel Life) will release a two-volume soundtrack for the HBO Max original series Made for Love. The Volume 1 album features Ciancia’s original music from the show’s first four episodes and will be released digitally tomorrow, April 2 by Paramount Music (click here to stream/download the soundtrack). Listen to a first track after the jump. A second volume featuring the composer’s score from the final four episodes of the first season is set to come out on April 15. Made for Love is based on Alissa Nutting’s novel of the same title and stars Cristin Milioti, Billy Magnussen, Dan Bakkedahl, Noma Dumezweni, Augusto Aguilera and Ray Romano.

Premiering in the U.S. on Friday, April 2, is the British limited series The Serpent developed by Tom Shankland & Richard Warlow and starring Tahar Ramin, Jenna Coleman, Billy Howle, Ellie Bamber, Mathilde Warnier, Alice Englert, Sahajak Boonthanakit, Gregoire Isvarine and Fabien Franke. Dominik Scherrer (The Missing, Ripper Street, The Widow, Primeval, Requiem) has composed the show’s original music. Dubois Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music earlier this year when the drama premiered in the UK. Alexei Aigui (The Truth, Locust, Test) has recently scored the new HBO hybrid docu-series Exterminate All the Brutes. The show is written and directed by Raoul Peck (Sometimes in April) and follows the filmmaker as he deconstructs the making and masking of history, focusing on the exploitative and genocidal aspects of European colonialism – from America to Africa and its impact on society today. The 4-parter reframes and revisits the meaning of the Native American genocide and American slavery and their fundamental implications for our present. Josh Hartnett plays the lead role in the scripted portions of the film.

Premiering today is the the National Geographic event series Genius: Aretha created by Suzan-Lori Parks and starring Cynthia Erivo, Courtney B. Vance, Malcolm Barrett, Pauletta Washington, David Cross, Patrice Covington, Rebecca Naomi Jones and Steven Norfleet. The show’s original score is composed by Terence Blanchard (BlacKkKlansman, Inside Man, Da 5 Bloods, Malcolm X). Raphael Saadiq (Lovecraft County, Insecure) serves as the project’s executive music producer and Hans Zimmer & Lorne Balfe have provided a new version of their Emmy Award-nominated main titles theme. Premiering on Wednesday, March 24 is the HBO Sports documentary The Day Sports Stood Still directed by Antoine Fuqua and produced by Brian Grazer & Justin Wilkes about the unprecedented sports shutdown in March of 2020 and the remarkable turn of events that followed. Marcelo Zarvos (Fences, Wonder, Enough Said, The Affair, Ray Donovan, The Good Shepherd, The Loudest Voice) has composed the film’s original music. ‘Los Lobos’ Soundtrack to Be Released

MovieScore Media will release a soundtrack album for the Mexican drama Los Lobos. The album features the film’s original music composed by Kenji Kishi (The Blue Years, Somos Mari Pepa). The soundtrack will be released digitally on April 2 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Los Lobos is co-written and directed by Samuel Kishi and stars Maximiliano Najar Marquez, Leonardo Najar Marquez, Martha Reyes Arias, Cici Lau and Jhon T. Lau. The movie follows two young boys who have come to the U.S. from Mexico with their mother dream of going to Disneyland.

HBO Max announced today the animated special The Runaway Bunny based on the children’s book by Margaret Wise Brown. The project is produced and directed by Amy Schatz (Song of Parkland) and will feature a performance of the never-before-released original Margaret Wise Brown lullaby Song of the Runaway Bunny by Tracee Ellis Ross (who is also narrating the special), a new reinterpretation of Always Be My Baby by Mariah Carey, a new version of Bob Dylan’s Make You Feel My Love by Kelly Rowland, as well other songs performed by Rosanne Cash, Ziggy Marley, Kimya Dawson, Rufus Wainwright and Michael Kiwanuka. Keith Kenniff (aka Helios) (Blood Road, The Last Survivor) has composed the original score for the project.
