Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the horror feature Primate co-written and directed by Johannes Roberts and starring Johnny Sequoyah, Jessica Alexander, Troy Kotsur, Gia Hunter, Charlie Mann, Victoria Wyant, Benjamin Cheng and Tienne Simon. The film’s original music is composed by Adrian Johnston ( The Strangers: Prey at Night, Becoming Jane, Brideshead Revisited, Kinky Boots, Lassie, A Very Royal Scandal, Dancing on the Edge, The Child in Time, The Tunnel). Lakeshore Records & Paramount Music have released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Also opening nationwide is the post-apocalyptic survival thriller Greenland 2: Migration directed by Ric Roman Waugh and starring Gerard Butler, Morena Baccarin, Roman Griffin Davis, William Abadie, Amber Rose Revah, Sophie Thompson and Trond Fausa Aurvåg. David Buckley (The Sandman, The Good Wife,The Nice Guys, The Lincoln Lawyer, Papillon,  Jason Bourne, Nobody, Evil, The Forbidden Kingdom). Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. ‘Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy’ Soundtrack Album Details

Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the Peacock limited series Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Leopold Ross (Shogun, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, The Book of Eli, Broken City, Triple 9) and Nick Chuba (Thelma, Shogun, The Girl from Plainville, Dr. Death, Appendage, Operation Varsity Blues). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, October 17 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also listen to the composer’s first track below. Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy is created by Patrick Macmanus and stars Michael Chernus, Gabriel Luna, Michael Angarano, Chris Sullivan, James Badge Dale and Marin Ireland. The 8-part crime drama tells the story of one of the world’s most notorious serial killers who was found responsible for the deaths of at least 33 young men and boys in the time span between 1972 and 1978, told through the words of Gacy himself and his victims, and their families, and the investigators.

Premiering tonight is the HBO original series  The Chair Company created by Tim Robinson & Zach Kanin and starring Robinson himself, Lake Bell, Sophia Lillis, Joseph Tudisco and Will Price. The show’s original music is composed by Keegan DeWitt (Hearts Beat Loud, A Teacher, I’ll See You in My Dreams, The Threesome, Divorce, Morris from America, Sorry for Your Loss, The Hero, Love Again). Premiering tomorrow, October 13, is the CBS comedy DMV developed by Dana Klein based on a short story by Katherine Heiny and starring Harriet Dyer, Tony Cavalero, Tim Meadows, Alex Tarrant, Molly Kearney and Gigi Zumbado. Gabriel Mann (Modern Family, A Million Little Things, Emily in Paris, Rectify, Rosewood, Better Nate Than Never, High School Musical: The Musical – The Series) is composing the show’s original music. The film is directed by Chris Smith (FYRE: The Greatest Party That Never Happened, 100 Foot Wave) and centers on Bryan Johnson, a man who has dedicated his life to defy aging. The movie dives into the controversial wellness practices one man is using to maintain vitality and youth, and the effect this journey has on himself and those around him.

‘Shōgun’ Vol. 2 Soundtrack Album to Be Released

Hollywood Records will release a new soundtrack album for the FX original series Shōgun. The album features previously unreleased music from the show’s first season composed by Atticus Ross (The Social Network, Watchmen, Soul, Gone Girl), Leopold Ross (Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, The Book of Eli, Death Note) and Nick Chuba (Thelma, The Girl from Plainville, Dr. Death) who have recently received an Emmy Award nomination for their score. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, August 16 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. The label has previously released the original soundtrack back in February and Mutant has announced a vinyl edition. Shōgun is developed by Rachel Kondo & Justin Marks based on James Clavell’s classic novel and stars Cosmo Jarvis, Hiroyuki Sanada, Anna Sawai, Takehiro Hira, Hiroto Kanai, Tadanobu Asano, Shinnosuke Abe, Tokuma Nishioka, Moeka Hoshi, Yuka Kouri, Yuki Kura and Fumi Nikaido.

Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the crime drama The Bikeriders written and directed by Jeff Nichols and starring Austin Butler, Tom Hardy, Jodie Comer, Norman Reedus, Michael Shannon, Mike Faist, Boyd Holbrook, Damon Herriman, Beau Knapp, Emory Cohen and Karl Glusman. The film’s original score is composed by David Wingo (Barry, Mayans, M.C., The Report, Our Brand Is Crisis, Kidding). Mutant and Back Lot Music will release a soundtrack album featuring thirteen 60s songs from the movie by artists such as The Sonics, Gary U.S. Bonds, Dale Hawkins, The Stooges, The Staple Singers, The Shangri-Las, Mickey Murray, among others, as a vinyl edition later this summer. Also opening wide is the horror thriller The Exorcism co-written and directed by Joshua John Miller and starring Russell Crowe, Sam Worthington, Ryan Simpkins, Chloe Bailey, David Hyde Pierce and Adam Goldberg. Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans (Ozark, The Outsider, Tokyo Vice, Fear the Walking Dead, Enemy, The White Tiger, The Staircase, Boy Erased) have composed the film’s original music. ‘Thelma’ Soundtrack Album Details

Milan Records will release the official soundtrack for the action comedy Thelma. The album features the film’s original music composed by Nick Chuba (Shogun, The Girl from Plainville, Dr. Death, Appendage, Operation Varsity Blues). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, June 21 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Also listen to the composer’s Thelma’s Theme below. Thelma is written and directed by Josh Margolin and stars June Squibb, Fred Hechinger, Richard Roundtree, Clark Gregg, Parker Posey, Nicole Byer and Malcolm McDowell. The movie follows a feisty 93-year-old grandmother who gets conned by a phone scammer pretending to be her grandson and sets out on a quest across Los Angeles, accompanied by an aging friend and his motorized scooter, to reclaim what was taken from her.

Nick Chuba (Dr. Death, The Girl from Plainville, Operation Varsity Blues, Appendage) has provided the original score for the upcoming Jordanian drama The Strangers’ Case. The film marks the feature directorial debut of producer Brandt Andersen (Mothers’ Day, Journey to Bethlehem) and stars Yasmine Al Massri, Yahya Mahayni, Omar Sy, Ziad Bakri, Jason Beghe, Constantine Markoulakis, Ayman Samman and Massa Daoud. The movie is set during the Syrian civil war and follows the chain reaction of events involving five five families spanning four continents after tragedy strikes a Syrian family in Aleppo.
