Decca Classics will release the official soundtrack album for the drama The Banker. The album features the film’s original music composed by H. Scott Salinas (A Private War, Cartel Land, The Ballad of Lefty Brown, Warrior). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, March 20 and will be available to stream/download here. The Banker is directed by George Nolfi and stars Anthony Mackie, Samuel L. Jackson, Nicholas Hoult and Nia Long. The movie tells the true story of revolutionary businessmen Bernard Garrett and Joe Morris who devise an audacious and risky plan to take on the racially oppressive establishment of the 1960s by helping other African Americans pursue the American dream.

Weekly Film Music Roundup (March 6, 2020)
Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the animated feature Onward directed by Dan Scanlon and starring Chris Pratt, Tom Holland, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Octavia Spencer. The film’s original score is composed by Mychael Danna (Life of Pi, Moneyball, Capote, Little Miss Sunshine) and Jeff Danna (The Good Dinosaur, The Addams Family, Storks). Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score, as well as an original song co-written and performed by Brandi Carlile. Also opening wide is the drama The Way Back directed by Gavin O’Connor and starring Ben Affleck, Al Madrigal, Michaela Watkins, Janina Gavankar and Glynn Turman. Rob Simonsen (Love, Simon, Nerve, Foxcatcher, The Upside, (500) Days of Summer, The Spectacular Now) has composed the film’s original music. H. Scott Salinas Scoring FX’s ‘The Most Dangerous Animal of All’
H. Scott Salinas (A Private War, Cartel Land, The Ballad of Lefty Brown, Warrior) has composed the original score for the new FX docu-series The Most Dangerous Animal of All. The show is based on The New York Times best-selling book of the same name and explores one man’s search for the father who abandoned him, only to uncover the worst: he believes his father is the Zodiac killer, one of the most infamous serial killers in American history. The 4-parter is directed by Kief Davidson (A Lego Brickumentary) who is also executive producing the project with Ross M. Dinerstein (The Innocent Man, 6 Balloons, 1922).

‘Sea of Shadows’ Soundtrack Released
Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album for the documentary Sea of Shadows. The album features the film’s original music composed by H. Scott Salinas (A Private War, The Ballad of Lefty Brown, Cartel Land, Warrior). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Sea of Shadows is directed by Richard Ladkani and follows a group of dedicated scientists, high-tech activists, investigative journalists and courageous undercover agents who, along with the Mexican Navy, attempt to rescue the most endangered and elusive whale on Earth while battling vicious Mexican drug cartels and Chinese traffickers.

H. Scott Salinas Scoring Channel 4’s ‘Baghdad Central’
H. Scott Salinas (A Private War, The Ballad of Lefty Brown, Cartel Land, Birth of the Dragon) is scoring the upcoming Channel 4 series Baghdad Central. The show is created by Stephen Butchard (The Last Kingdom, The Child in Time) based on the novel of the same title by Elliot Cola and stars Waleed Zuaiter, Bertie Carvel, Clara Khoury, Leem Lubany, July Namir, Neil Maskell and Corey Stoll. The 6-part crime thriller is set in 2003 Baghdad after Saddam Hussain has fallen and the Coalition forces want to secure the country and centers on a group of ordinary occupied Iraqi citizens.
Soundtrack Album for Cinemax’s ‘Warrior’ Released
Milan Records has released the first soundtrack album for the Cinemax original series Warrior. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Reza Safinia (Filly Brown, The Trust) & H. Scott Salinas (A Private War, Cartel Land, The Ballad of Lefty Brown) who previously co-scored the movie Birth of the Dragon. Also included are hip hop tracks by Dwagie, Ozi, SmashRegz, RA & others. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. The label has previously released Safinia’s & Salinas’ main titles theme as a digital single last month. Warrior is created by Jonathan Tropper, produced by Justin Lin (who also directed the first episode) and stars Andrew Koji, Olivia Cheng, Jason Tobin, Kieran Bew, Dean Jagger, Joanna Vanderham, Tom Weston-Jones, Joe Taslim, Langley Kirkwood, Hoon Lee, Christian McKay and Perry Yung.

Premiering tonight in the U.S. is the British mini-series Mrs. Wilson developed by Anna Symon, directed by Richard Laxton and starring Ruth Wilson, Iain Glenn, Keely Hawes, Anupam Kher and Fiona Shaw. The show’s original music is composed by Anne Nikitin (American Animals, Calibre, This Beautiful Fantastic, The Imposter).
