Air-Edel Records has announced a soundtrack EP for the British drama Hope Gap. The 6-track EP features the film’s original music composed by Golden Globe nominee Alex Heffes (Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, The Last King of Scotland, Queen of Katwe, Roots, Touching the Void, 11.21.63) ). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, November 6 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and other digital music stores. Hope Gap is written and directed by William Nicholson and stars Annette Bening, Bill Nighy and Josh O’Connor. The movie charts the life of a woman shocked to learn her husband is leaving her for another after 29 years of marriage, and the ensuing emotional fallout the dissolution has on their only grown son.

Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the animated feature Onward directed by Dan Scanlon and starring Chris Pratt, Tom Holland, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Octavia Spencer. The film’s original score is composed by Mychael Danna (Life of Pi, Moneyball, Capote, Little Miss Sunshine) and Jeff Danna (The Good Dinosaur, The Addams Family, Storks). Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score, as well as an original song co-written and performed by Brandi Carlile. Also opening wide is the drama The Way Back directed by Gavin O’Connor and starring Ben Affleck, Al Madrigal, Michaela Watkins, Janina Gavankar and Glynn Turman. Rob Simonsen (Love, Simon, Nerve, Foxcatcher, The Upside, (500) Days of Summer, The Spectacular Now) has composed the film’s original music. WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last week. Alex Heffes Scoring William Nicholson’s ‘Hope Gap’
Earlier this month, Alex Heffes has recorded his score for the upcoming British family drama Hope Gap. The film is written and directed by William Nicholson (screenwriter of Gladiator, Les Miserables, Shadowlands & Unbroken) and stars Annette Bening, Bill Nighy and Josh O’Connor. The movie charts the unraveling of a marriage after 29 years and the impact on a family unit. David M Thompson (Woman in Gold, The Sense of an Ending) is producing the project for Origin Pictures, alongside Sarada McDermott.
