The only new movie opening nationwide this week is the psychological thriller Escape Room directed by Adam Robitel and starring Taylor Russell, Logan Miller, Deborah Ann Woll, Jay Ellis, Tyler Labine, Nik Dodani and Yorick van Wageningen. The film’s original music is composed by Brian Tyler (Furious 7, Crazy Rich Asians, Iron Man 3, Avengers: Age of Ultron) and John Carey. Opening in limited release is the indie thriller State Like Sleep written and directed by Meredith Danluck and starring Katherine Waterston, Michael Shannon, Luke Evans, Michiel Huisman and Mary Kay Place. David Wingo (Loving, Mud, Take Shelter, Barry) & Jeff McIlwain (Snow Angels, Joe, The Sitter) have composed the film’s original music. No word on a soundtrack release. Also opening wide is the animated feature Ferdinand directed by Carlos Saldanha and featuring the voices of John Cena, Kate McKinnon, Gina Rodriguez, Anthony Anderson, Daveed Diggs, Gabriel Iglesias, Bobby Cannavale and David Tennant. John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon, The Bourne Identity, Shrek) has composed the film’s original score. Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the western The Ballad of Lefty Brown. The album features the film’s original music composed by H. Scott Salinas (Birth of the Dragon, City of Ghosts, Cartel Land, Murder in the First). Also included is the original title song written and performed by Maiah Wynne. The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 15, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on 
Premiering on Thursday, November 2, is the new CBS drama S.W.A.T. developed by Aaron Thomas, produced by Shawn Ryan and starring Shemar Moore, Stephanie Sigman, Alex Russell, Jay Harrington, Lina Esco, Kenny Johnson and Peter Onorati. The show’s original music is composed by Robert Duncan (Castle, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Unit, Timeless). Madison Gate Records has released a digital single featuring new version of the theme from the 70s series performed by Duncan. 
Premiering on Friday, November 3, is the mini-series Alias Grace created Sarah Polley and starring Sarah Gadon, Anna Paquin, Zachary Levi, Paul Gross, Edward Holcroft, Kerr Logan, Rebecca Liddiard and David Cronenberg.
