Three new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this weekend:
Expected to top the weekend box office is the biographical drama Bohemian Rhapsody directed by Bryan Singer and starring Rami Malek, Lucy Boynton, Gwilym Lee, Ben Hardy, Joseph Mazzello, Aiden Gillen, Tom Hollander and Mike Myers. The movie doesn’t feature an original score. Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the film performed by Queen. Also opening wide is the fantasy adventure The Nutcracker and the Four Realms directed by Lasse Hallstrom and starring Keira Knigthley, Mackenzie Foy, Misty Copeland, Morgan Freeman and Helen Mirren. James Newton Howard (The Hunger Games, King Kong, The Sixth Sense) has composed the film’s score based on themes from Tchaikovsky’s classic 1892 ballet score. Walt Disney Pictures has announced Los Angeles Philharmonic musical director Gustavo Dudamel as the conductor of the James Newton Howard‘s score for the studios’ upcoming fantasy adventure The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. The movie is directed by Lasse Hallstrom (Chocolat, The Cider House Rules) and stars Keira Knighley, Mackenzie Foy, Misty Copeland, Morgan Freeman and Helen Mirren. The film is based on the classic ballet by Peter Tchaikovsky and the story by E.T.A. Hoffmann and follows a young girl who receives a nutcracker doll from her godfather on Christmas Eve and finds herself thrust into a fantastical world.
