MCA Records will release a second soundtrack album for the film adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The album features the film’s original score composed by Academy Award nominee James Newton Howard (The Sixth Sense, King Kong, The Fugitive, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Signs, Maleficent, The Village) who previously scored the first five installments in The Hunger Games series. The soundtrack will be released on November 20. The pre-order link will be added to this page soon. A first track (Haymitch Meets Snow) is already available to stream/download now and can be checked out below. As previously reported, a separate album featuring the songs from the movie will be coming out a week earlier on November 13. The album is produced by Grammy Award winner Dave Cobb and brings together 29 cross-genre artists. The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically on November 13. James Newton Howard (The Sixth Sense, King Kong, Signs, The Fugitive, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Maleficent, The Village) is returning to score the upcoming film adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The movie is directed by Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend, Constantine) and stars Joseph Zada, Jesse Plemons, Ralph Fiennes, Glenn Close, Elle Fanning, Kieran Culkin, Mckenna Grace, Whitney Peak, Maya Hawke and Kelvin Harrison Jr. The sixth installment in the The Hunger Games feature series is set 24 years before the events of the 2011 original movie, starting on the morning of the reaping of the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell.

The album features the film’s original music composed by Jeremiah Fraites (of the folk band The Lumineers) who has made his feature scoring debut on the project. The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, September 12 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The track list of the soundtrack album for the prequel The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes has been revealed. The album features seventeen songs from and inspired by the film performed by lead actress Rachel Zegler (including her previously released rendition of The Hanging Tree), Flatland Cavalry, Sierra Ferrell, Molly Tuttle, Bella White, Billy Strings, The Covey Band, Charles Wesley Godwin & others. Already available now on all major digital music platforms is the original song Can’t Catch Me Now co-written (with Dan Nigro) and performed by Olivia Rodrigo (listen to the full track after the jump). Dave Cobb serves as the project’s executive music producer. The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 17 by Geffen Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The album features the film’s original score composed by Academy Award nominee James Newton Howard (King Kong, The Sixth Sense, Signs, Maleficent, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, The Fugitive) who previously scored all four original The Hunger Games movies. Also included are three newly reimagined piano suites based on Howard’s past themes from the franchise performed by featured soloist Yuja Wang who also performs the piano on the new score. Producer Nina Jacobson has revealed during a recent interview at this year’s CinemaCon that Dave Cobb has co-written and produced new songs for Francis Lawrence’s The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. The Grammy Award-winning music producer and songwriter who is best known for his work with country music artists such as Chris Stapleton, Brandi Carlile, Sturgill Simpson & John Prine has contributed several songs, which are performed in the film by Rachel Zegler who stars in the lead role as Lucy Gray Baird.
