Bryce Dessner (Cyrano, The Two Popes, Bardo, Irresistible, The Kitchen) of the rock band The National has composed the original music for the upcoming romantic comedy She Came to Me. The film is written and directed by Rebecca Miller (Maggie’s Plan, The Ballad of Jack and Rose) and stars Peter Dinklage, Marisa Tomei, Brian d’Arcy James, Joanna Kulig and Anne Hathaway. The movie is set in New York City and follows a composer suffering from writer’s block and unable to finish the score for his big comeback opera who – at the behest of his wife/formerly his therapist – sets out in search of inspiration.

‘Bardo’ Soundtrack Album Announced
Milan Records has announced a soundtrack album for the Mexican comedy drama Bardo, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths. The album features the film’s original music composed by Bryce Dessner (The Two Popes, Cyrano, C’mon C’mon, The Kitchen) and the movie’s director Alejandro G. Iñárritu. Also included are tracks by David Bowie,Héctor Lavoe &Willie Colón, José José, Andrés Landero, Joe Cuba & others. The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, December 9 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Bardo is written and directed by Iñárritu and stars Daniel Giménez Cacho, Ximena Lamadrid, Íker Sánchez Solano, Griselda Siciliani, Luz Jiménez, Andrés Almeida, Luis Couturier, Clementina Guadarrama, Jay O. Sanders and Francisco Rubio.

The film’s original score is composed by Yasutaka Nakata. Virgin Music has released a soundtrack album featuring songs from the movie performed by Ado. Opening semi-wide in a few hundred U.S. theaters today is the British comedy The Estate written and directed by Dean Craig and starring Toni Collette, Anna Faris, David Duchovny, Rosemarie DeWitt, Kathleen Turner and Ron Livingston. Will Bates (Unbelievable, The Path, The Magicians, Away, The Looming Tower, I Origins) has composed the film’s original music. No word on a soundtrack release. Bryce Dessner Scoring Zach Braff’s ‘A Good Person’
Bryce Dessner (The Two Popes, Cyrano, Irresistible, The Kitchen) of the rock band The National has composed the original score for the upcoming drama A Good Person. The film is written and directed by Zach Braff (Garden State, Going in Style) and stars Florence Pugh, Morgan Freeman, Molly Shannon, Celeste O’Connor, Chinaza Uche and Zoe Lister-Jones. The movie revolves around a woman whose life falls apart following her involvement in a fatal accident and centers on the unlikely relationship she forms with her would-be father-in-law that gives her a fighting chance to put herself back together.
Aaron & Bryce Dessner to Compose Music for Nicole Riegel’s ‘Dandelion’
Aaron Dessner (Cyrano, C’mon C’mon, Transpecos) & Bryce Dessner (The Two Popes, Irresistible, The Kitchen) (of The National) have been hired to compose the original music and score for the upcoming romantic drama Dandelion. The film is directed by Nicole Riegel (Holler) and stars KiKi Layne as a struggling but determined Cincinnati singer-songwriter who reluctantly takes a last-ditch-effort gig at a motorcycle rally in South Dakota, where she meets a guitarist who walked away from his dream long ago.

Opening in theaters nationwide this week is the horror comedy Studio 666 directed by BJ McDonnell and starring Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear, Nate Mendel, Rami Jaffee, Whitney Cummings, Will Forte, Jenna Ortega, Leslie Grossman and Jeff Garlin. The film’s original score is composed by Roy Mayorga (best known as the drummer of Ministry, Hellyeah and Stone Sour). John Carpenter has written the theme song and Foo Fighters have contributed the original songs for the fictional band Dream Widow. The film’s original music is composed by The National’s Bryce Dessner (The Two Popes, The Kitchen) & Aaron Dessner (Cyrano, C’mon C’mon). No soundtrack album has been announced yet. Opening at New York’s Paris Theatre today before coming out in more theaters in early January and before premiering on Netflix on January 21, is the spy thriller Munich: The Edge of War directed by Christian Schwochow and starring George MacKay, Jeremy Irons, Jannis Niehwöhner, Sandra Hüller, August Diehl, Liv Lisa Fries, Erin Doherty and Martin Wuttke. Isobel Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, Emma, Vanity Fair, Vita & Virginia, The Split, The ABC Murders) has composed the film’s original music. No word yet on a soundtrack release. ‘Cyrano’ Soundtrack Album Released
Decca Records has released the full soundtrack album for the musical drama Cyrano. The album features the songs from the movie written by Bryce Dessner & Aaron Dessner (of The National), with lyrics by Matt Berninger & Carin Besser and performed by cast members Haley Bennett, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Ben Mendelsohn & others, as well as selections of Bryce & Aaron’s originals score performed by the London Contemporary Orchestra. Also included is The National’s original song Someone Desperate, which has previously been released as a digital single. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here. A CD version is available to order here and a vinyl edition (to be released on January 14, 2022) is available for pre-order on Amazon.
The National’s Original Song ‘Somebody Desperate’ from Joe Wright’s ‘Cyrano’ Released
Decca Records has released the original song Somebody Desperate from the film adaptation of the stage musical Cyrano. The track, which plays during the movie’s end credits, is written by Bryce Dessner, Aaron Dessner & Matt Berninger and performed by The National. As previously reported, a first song (Someone to Say) has been released in October and the full soundtrack album will be coming out next Friday, December 10 (click here to pre-order the CD version).
