Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the supernatural comedy Ghostbusters: Afterlife directed by Jason Reitman and starring Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, Annie Potts and Paul Rudd. The film’s original music is composed by Rob Simonsen (FoxcatcherThe Way BackNerve, Tully, (500) Days of SummerThe Age of Adeline, The Front Runner). Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Also opening nationwide is the drama King Richard directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green and starring Will Smith, Aunjanue Ellis, Demi Singleton, Saniyya Sidney, Jon Bernthal, Kevin Dunn, Tony Goldwyn and Andy Bean. Kris Bowers (Bridgerton,  Dear White People, Green Book, When They See Us, The United States vs. Billie Holiday, Space Jam: A New LegacyMrs. America) has composed the film’s original music. WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the compoer’s score, as well as the original song Be Alive performed by Beyoncé. Already playing in select theaters since this past Wednesday before premiering on Netflix on December 1 is the western The Power of the Dog  written and directed by Jane Campion and starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Thomasin McKenzie, Frances Conroy, Keith Carradine and Geneviève Lemon. The film’s original music is composed by Jonny Greenwood (Phantom ThreadThere Will Be Blood,  Spencer, Inherent ViceThe Master, You Were Never Really Here). Lakeshore Records & INVADA Records have released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score earlier this week. Also opening in select theaters is the drama C’mon C’mon written and directed by Mike Mills and starring Joaquin Phoenix, Woody Norman and Gaby Hoffmann. Bryce Dessner (The Two PopesThe Kitchen, Irresistible) & Aaron Dessner (Cyrano, Jockey, TranspecosBig Sur) have composed the film’s original music. Opening in around 300 theaters is the romantic comedy India Sweet and Spices written and directed by Geeta Malik and starring Sophia Ali, Manisha Koirala, Adil Hussain, Rish Shah, Deepti Gupta, Ved Sapru and Anita Kalathara. The film’s original music is composed by Ceiri Torjussen (The CanalJack Goes Home, The Shadow in My Eye, All Creatures Here Below). No soundtrack album has been announced yet. The movie, which follows a college freshman who returns home for the summer and discovers secrets and lies in her parents’ past, is being distributed in the U.S. by Bleecker Street.

Opening in select theaters and on VOD today is the psychological thriller Hide and Seek written and directed by Joel David Moore and starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Jacinda Barrett, Sue Jean Kim , Mustafa Shakir and Joe Pantoliano. Tim Jones (ChuckHuman TargetBeast of BurdenOffice Uprising, Cult, Survive the Game) has composed the film’s original music. No word yet on a soundtrack release. Also opening in select theaters is the documentary The First Wave directed by Matthew Heineman about the heroes at the epicenter of COVID-19 as they come together to fight one of the greatest threats the world has ever encountered. The film’s original music is composed by H. Scott Salinas (The BankerThe Ballad of Lefty Brown, Coyote, WarriorBirth of the DragonSea of Shadows) and Jon Batiste (Soul). No soundtrack album has been released yet. The National Geographic Films production is being distributed by Neon.

Already playing in select theaters since this past Wednesday before premiering on Netflix on November 24 is the sports drama Bruised directed by Halle Berry and starring herself, Adan Canto, Adriane Lenox, Lela Loren, Sheila Atim, Valentina Shevchenko, Shamier Anderson, Nikolai Nikolaeff, Danny Boyd Jr. and Stephen Henderson. Aska Matsumiya (Skate KitchenI’m Your WomanSelah and the Spades37 Seconds) has composed the film’s original score. Warner Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the movie by artists including Cardi B, H.E.R., Latto, Saweetie, City Girls, Young M.A & others.
