Milan Records has announced Travesía, a new album featuring music by composer Ryuichi Sakamoto (The Last Emperor, Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, Little Buddha, Femme Fatale, Snake Eyes), curated by five-time Academy Award-winning filmmaker Alejandro G. Iñárritu (Birdman, Babel, 21 Grams, Amores Perros, Bardo, Biutiful). The album features twenty tracks handpicked by Iñárritu, including selections of the Sakamoto’s solo work such as Thousand Knives, the title track of the musician’s 1978 debut album. Also included is a new, never-before-heard mix of The Revenant Main Theme (written for Iñárritu’s 2015 feature) by Sakamoto’s long-time collaborator Alva Noto. ‘Bardo’ Soundtrack Album Announced
Milan Records has announced a soundtrack album for the Mexican comedy drama Bardo, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths. The album features the film’s original music composed by Bryce Dessner (The Two Popes, Cyrano, C’mon C’mon, The Kitchen) and the movie’s director Alejandro G. Iñárritu. Also included are tracks by David Bowie,Héctor Lavoe &Willie Colón, José José, Andrés Landero, Joe Cuba & others. The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, December 9 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Bardo is written and directed by Iñárritu and stars Daniel Giménez Cacho, Ximena Lamadrid, Íker Sánchez Solano, Griselda Siciliani, Luz Jiménez, Andrés Almeida, Luis Couturier, Clementina Guadarrama, Jay O. Sanders and Francisco Rubio.

The details of the soundtrack album for Alejandro G. Inarritu’s dramatic thriller The Revenant have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music by Academy Award winner Ryuichi Sakamoto (The Last Emperor, Snake Eyes, Little Buddha) and Alva Noto. The National member Bryce Dessner has also contributed additional music. Ryuichi Sakamoto to Collaborate with Alva Noto & The National’s Bryce Dessner on ‘The Revenant’
Ryuichi Sakamoto has announced on Twitter that he is collaborating with Carsten Nicolai aka Alva Noto and Bryce Dessner on Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu’s upcoming dramatic thriller The Revenant. The movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy, Domhnall Gleeson and Will Poulter is based on the novel of the same title by Michael Punke and follows legendary explorer Hugh Glass who is brutally attacked by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team. Nicolai is a German electronic music artist who previously worked together on several records with Sakamoto. Dessner is best known as a member of the Grammy Award-winning band The Nationals.

The film is directed by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu (Birdman, Amores Perros, Babel, 21 Grams) and stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy, Domhnall Gleeson and Will Poulter. The movie is based on the novel by Michael Punke and follows legendary explorer Hugh Glass who is brutally attacked by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team. Mark L. Smith (Vacancy, The Hole) has co-written the screenplay with Inarritu.

Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu’s ‘Birdman’ to Feature Music by Antonio Sanchez
Antonio Sanchez has composed the score for the upcoming comedy Birdman. The film is directed by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu and stars Michael Keaton, Emma Stone, Naomi Watts, Zach Galifianakis, Edward Norton, Andrea Riseborough and Amy Ryan. The movie follows a former actor, who once played an iconic superhero, as he mounts a Broadway play based on a Raymond Carver short story in a bid to reclaim past glory. Inarritu also co-wrote the screenplay with Alexander Dinelaris, Nicolas Giacobone & Armando Bo (Biutiful) and is also producing the Worldview Entertainment and New Regency production with John Lesher (End of Watch, Blood Ties). Sanchez is best known as a jazz drummer who has performed with such acts as the Pat Metheny Group and has also released three solo albums over the past six years.
