Noton has released a soundtrack album for the documentary This Stolen Country of Mine. The album features the film’s original music composed by German electronic music artist Alva Noto (aka Carsten Nicolai) (The Revenant). Four new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the comedy Daddy’s Home directed by Sean Anders and starring Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Linda Cardellini, Thomas Haden Church and Hannibal Buress. The film’s original music is composed by Michael Andrews (Donnie Darko, Bridesmaids, Neighbors, Freaks & Geeks, Funny People). No soundtrack album has been announced. Daddy’s Home follows a mild-mannered radio executive who strives to become the best stepdad to his wife’s two kids, but complications ensue when their freeloading real father arrives.. Also opening wide is the drama Concussion written and directed by Peter Landesman and starring Will Smith, Alec Baldwin, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Paul Reiser, Luke Wilson, Arliss Howard and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje. James Newton Howard (The Hunger Games, Maleficent, King Kong, Signs, The Sixth Sense) has composed the film’s original music. ‘The Revenant’ Soundtrack Details
The details of the soundtrack album for Alejandro G. Inarritu’s dramatic thriller The Revenant have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music by Academy Award winner Ryuichi Sakamoto (The Last Emperor, Snake Eyes, Little Buddha) and Alva Noto. The National member Bryce Dessner has also contributed additional music. The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 25, 2015 and physically (on CD and vinyl) in early 2016 by Milan Records. Visit Amazon to pre-order the CD. The Revenant starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy, Domhnall Gleeson & Will Poulter takes place in the 1800s and follows an explorer who is abandoned by his hunting team after a brutal bear attack and must withstand the elements and the wilderness to survive and return to his family.
Ryuichi Sakamoto to Collaborate with Alva Noto & The National’s Bryce Dessner on ‘The Revenant’
Ryuichi Sakamoto has announced on Twitter that he is collaborating with Carsten Nicolai aka Alva Noto and Bryce Dessner on Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu’s upcoming dramatic thriller The Revenant. The movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy, Domhnall Gleeson and Will Poulter is based on the novel of the same title by Michael Punke and follows legendary explorer Hugh Glass who is brutally attacked by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team. Nicolai is a German electronic music artist who previously worked together on several records with Sakamoto. Dessner is best known as a member of the Grammy Award-winning band The Nationals.
