Netflix Music has released a soundtrack album for the British Netflix original film Joy. The album features the period drama’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Steven Price (Gravity, Last Night in Soho, Fury, Our Planet, Suicide Squad, The World’s End, Baby Driver, The Aeronauts). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also listen to the composer’s first track (Dear Mr. Killian) after the jump. Joy is directed by Ben Taylor and stars Thomasin McKenzie, James Norton, Bill Nighy, Joanna Scanlan, Tanya Moodie, Charlie Murphy, Rish Shah and Ella Bruccoleri. The movie tells the true story of three pioneering British scientists in the ’60s and ’70s and their struggle to develop IVF – against all odds.

Steven Price (Gravity, Last Night in Soho, Suicide Squad, Fury, Our Planet, The World’s End, Baby Driver) has recently scored the upcoming British Netflix original film Joy. The movie is directed by Ben Taylor (Sex Education, Renegade Nell) and stars Thomasin McKenzie, James Norton and Bill Nighy. The period drama tells the true story behind the ground-breaking birth of Louise Joy Brown in 1978, the world’s first ‘test-tube-baby’, and the tireless 10-year journey to make it possible.

Four new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the comedy Daddy’s Home directed by Sean Anders and starring Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Linda Cardellini, Thomas Haden Church and Hannibal Buress. The film’s original music is composed by Michael Andrews (Donnie Darko, Bridesmaids, Neighbors, Freaks & Geeks, Funny People). No soundtrack album has been announced. Daddy’s Home follows a mild-mannered radio executive who strives to become the best stepdad to his wife’s two kids, but complications ensue when their freeloading real father arrives.. Also opening wide is the drama Concussion written and directed by Peter Landesman and starring Will Smith, Alec Baldwin, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Paul Reiser, Luke Wilson, Arliss Howard and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje. James Newton Howard (The Hunger Games, Maleficent, King Kong, Signs, The Sixth Sense) has composed the film’s original music. David O. Russell’s ‘Joy’ Soundtrack Details
The details of the soundtrack album for David O. Russell’s comedy drama Joy have been revealed. The album features the songs from the film by artists including The Rolling Stones, Bee Gees, Cream, Lee Morgan, Nat King Cole, The Ronettes, as well as the film’s cast, including Edgar Ramirez performing the Randy Newman-penned Mama Told Me Not To Come and Jennifer Lawrence & Ramirez who are performing the classic song Something Stupid. Also included are several tracks from the movie’s original score composed by West Dylan Thordson & David Campbell, with additional music by Blake Mills. The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 18, 2015 and physically on January 8, 2016 by ABKCO Records. Visit Amazon to pre-order the CD. David O. Russell’s ‘Joy’ to Feature Music by Danny Elfman
Danny Elfman revealed in an interview with L.A. Weekly that he is working on David O. Russell’s upcoming drama Joy. The film stars Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro, Bradley Cooper, Edgar Ramirez, Diane Ladd, Virginia Madsen, Isabella Rossellini and Elisabeth Röhm. The movie tells the true story of a struggling Long Island single mom who became one of the country’s most successful entrepreneurs after inventing the Miracle Mop. Russell has written the screenplay based on a story by himself and Annie Mumolo (Bridesmaids). He is also producing the project with John Davis (Predator, I, Robot, The Blacklist), Jonathan Gordon (Silver Linings Playbook), Megan Ellison (Zero Dark Thirty, Her, Foxcatcher) and Ken Mok (Invincible).
