Universal-Island Records will release a soundtrack album for Idris Elba’s feature directorial debut Yardie. The album features the songs from the movie by artists including Lord Creator, Yellowman, The Isley Brothers, Culture, Grace Jones, The Roots Radics, The Heptones, Skip Marley & more. The soundtrack will be released digitally on August 24, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A vinyl & CD version is also in the works. Yardie is directed by Elba and stars Aml Ameen, Shantol Jackson, Stephen Graham, Fraser James, Sheldon Shepherd and Everaldo Cleary. The World Soundtrack Academy has announced the first wave of nominees for the 2018 World Soundtrack Awards in the categories Film Composer of the Year, Best TV Composer and Best Original Song Written Directly for a Film. The winners will be announced at the World Soundtrack Awards & concert on Wednesday, October 17 at the Ghent International Film Festival. As previously reported, Philippe Sarde will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the event. Here are the nominations:

Four new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this week:
Expected to top the weekend box office is the shark thriller The Meg directed by Jon Turteltaub and starring Jason Statham, Li Bingbing, Rainn Wilson, Ruby Rose, Winston Chao, Page Kennedy, Robert Taylor and Sophia Shuya Cai. The film’s original music is composed by Harry Gregson-Williams (The Chronicles of Narnia, Shrek, The Martian, Kingdom of Heaven, Man on Fire). ‘Deadpool 2’ – Super Duper Cut Soundtrack Album Released

Columbia Records has released a soundtrack album for the Deadpool 2 Super Duper Cut, which includes 15 minutes of additional footage not included in the theatrical version of the film. The album features the content of the original soundtrack album for the movie, as well as six additional tracks, including The Osborne Brothers’ Love Hurts, Guignol & Mischief Brew’s Fight Dirty, Steve Miller Band’s Fly Like an Eagle, Jordan Smith’s performance of Ashes, Teamheadkick’s Deadpool Rap (X-Force Remix), and a track from Tyler Bates’ score.
