Ropeadope will release a soundtrack album for the PBS documentary Henry David Thoreau. The album features the film’s original music composed by David Cieri (The Vietnam War, Oklahoma City, The Roosevelts: An Intimate History, Hemingway). The soundtrack will be released digitally next Monday, March 30 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Henry David Thoreau is executive produced by Ken Burns & Don Henley, directed by Erik Ewers & Christopher Loren Ewers, narrated by George Clooney and features the voices of Jeff Goldblum (as Henry David Thoreau), Ted Danson (Ralph Waldo Emerson), Tate Donovan (William Ellery Channing) & Meryl Streep (Lidian Emerson,Mary Merrick Brooks, Margaret Fuller & Maria Thoreau). The 3-part film examines the life and work of the titular 19th-century writer in the context of antebellum New England and the larger United States, as well as through the universal themes he focused on in his writings.

New Soundtrack Album for BBC’s ‘Call the Midwife’ Released
Dubois Records has released a new soundtrack album for the BBC drama Call the Midwife. The album features selections of the show’s season composed by Maurizio Malagnini (The Paradise, Coppelia, Peter & Wendy, The C Word). The Volume 2 album is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Also listen to the composer’s first two tracks after the jump. The label has previously released an album featuring Malagnini’s score from Seasons 4-7 back in 2018, while DMG TV has released two soundtrack albums featuring the songs from the first two seasons and music from the 2012/2013 Christmas specials. Call the Midwife is created by Heidi Thomas and stars Jenny Agutter, Judy Parfitt, Helen George, Stephen McGann, Laura Main and Cliff Parisi.

The album features the music from the show, including period and newly composed pieces for the project featuring performances by Rhiannon Giddens, Jake Blount, Brooklyn Rider, Nora Brown & Steph Coleman, Hanneke Cassel, Jennifer Kreisberg and Yo-Yo Ma. The soundtrack will be released digitally and on CD this Friday, November 7 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The American Revolution is directed by Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein & David Schmidt and explores the country’s founding struggle and its eight-year War for Independence. The 6-parter is being released to coincide with the 250th anniversary of the start of the war, which began in the spring of 1775, more than a year before the Declaration of Independence.

The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Uèle Lamore (The Balconettes, The Apology, Above Water). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, October 24 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon.
