Hans Zimmer (The Lion King, Gladiator, The Dark Knight, Inception) and Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, The LEGO Batman Movie) are composing the original music for the upcoming Nat Geo documentary Rebuilding Paradise. The film is directed by Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13, Solo: A Star Wars Story) and tells the story of the Paradise community as they begin to rebuild their lives following the most destructive wildfire in California history. Howard is also producing the project with Brian Grazer (Empire, 24), Xan Parker, Sara Bernstein and Justin Wilkes (Mars, What Happened, Miss Simone?).

Soundtrack Album for National Geographic Documentary ‘The Cave’ to Be Released
Accidental Records will release a soundtrack album for the National Geographic documentary The Cave. The album features the film’s original music composed by Matthew Herbert (Disobedience, A Fantastic Woman, Gloria Bell, Life in a Day, Temple). The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 6, 2019 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Cave is directed by Feras Fayyad and and follows the documentarian as he returns to his native, wartorn Syria to follow a dedicated team of female doctors who tirelessly treat casualties in an underground hospital while battling systemic sexism.
‘Sea of Shadows’ Soundtrack Released
Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album for the documentary Sea of Shadows. The album features the film’s original music composed by H. Scott Salinas (A Private War, The Ballad of Lefty Brown, Cartel Land, Warrior). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Sea of Shadows is directed by Richard Ladkani and follows a group of dedicated scientists, high-tech activists, investigative journalists and courageous undercover agents who, along with the Mexican Navy, attempt to rescue the most endangered and elusive whale on Earth while battling vicious Mexican drug cartels and Chinese traffickers.

The album features more music from the show composed by Benjamin Wallfisch (It, Shazam!, Blade Runner 2049, Hidden Figures, Annabelle Creation). The Vol. 3 album, entitled Deserts and Polar, is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. The first album (Mountains and Oceans) was released in early April and the second album (Jungles and Grassland) is now also available. Hostile Planet executive produced by Guillermo Navarro and hosted by Bear Grylls looks at animals surviving at the extremes of different environments, in mountains, oceans, grasslands, jungles, deserts, and polar regions.

Sean Callery (24, Homeland, Jessica Jones) has composed the original music for the new National Geographic original limited series The Hot Zone. The show is developed by James V. Hart (Hook, Bram Stoker’s Dracula), Jeff Vintar (I, Robot), Kelly Sounders & Brian Peterson (Smallville) and stars Julianna Margulies, Noah Emmerich, Liam Cunningham, Topher Grace, Paul James, Nick Searcy, Robert Wisdom and Robert Sean Leonard. The parter is based on the bestselling novel by Richard Preston and tells the true story about the origins of Ebola, a highly infectious virus from the central African rainforest and its arrival on US soil in 1989.
