Lakeshore Records will release a new soundtrack album for the Netflix original series The Umbrella Academy. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s second season composed by Jeff Russo (Fargo, Star Trek: Discovery & Picard, Legion, The Night Of, The Act) & Perrine Virgile. The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 6, 2020 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The label has previously released a soundtrack featuring Russo’s score from Season 1. The Umbrella Academy is developed by Steve Blackman based on the comics and graphic novels created by Gerard Way and stars Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, David Castañeda, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, Ritu Arya, Yusuf Gatewood, Marin Ireland and Kate Walsh.

Frederik Wiedmann (The Dragon Prince, The Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Hangman) who has previously scored DreamWorks Animation TV’s All Hail King Julien is composing the show’s original music. The series, which follows young versions of Alex, Marty, Gloria & Melman from the Madagascar franchise, as they grow up in New York City, will be available to stream on Hulu and Peacock.
Jeff Russo Scoring Starz’s ‘Power Book II: Ghost’
Jeff Russo (Fargo, Star Trek: Picard, Legion, The Umbrella Academy, The Night Of) is composing the original score for the new Starz original series Power Book II: Ghost. The show is created by Courtney A. Kemp and stars Michael Rainey Jr., Naturi Naughton, Mary J. Blige, Shane Johnson, Gianni Paolo, Quincy Tyler Bernstine, Daniel Bellomy, Paige Hurd,” Cliff “Method Man” Smith, Melanie Liburd, Justin Marcel McManus, Woody McClain, Lovell Adams-Gray and LaToya Tonodeo. The drama is a spin-off of Starz’s Power, which premiered between 2014 and 2019, and picks up shortly after the events of the original series as Tariq St. Patrick grapples with a new world order: his father dead and his mother facing charges for the murder her son committed.
‘Lucifer’ Soundtrack Album to Be Released
WaterTower Music will release the first soundtrack album for the fantasy series Lucifer. The album features the musical performances from the show’s first five seasons performed by actors Tom Ellis, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Lauren German, as well as Skye Townsend and produced by the series’ composers Jeff Russo & Ben Decter. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, August 21 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and other digital music services. Lucifer is developed by Tom Kapinos based on the DC Comics character created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kiet & Mike Dringenberg and also stars Kevin Alejandro, D. B. Woodside, Rachael Harris and Aimee Garcia. The series follows the title character bored with being the Lord of Hell, as he relocates to Los Angeles, where he opens a nightclub and forms a connection with a homicide detective.
Jeff Russo to Score Amazon’s ‘Utopia’
Jeff Russo (Fargo, Star Trek: Discovery & Picard, Legion, The Night Of, The Umbrella Academy) has been hired to score the upcoming Amazon original series Utopia. The show is developed by Gillian Flynn (Gone Girl, Sharp Objects) based on Dennis Kelly’s Channel 4 series and stars Sasha Lane, Rainn Wilson, Dan Byrd, Javon Walton, Cory Michael Smith, Ashleigh LaThrop, Desmin Borges, Jessica Rothe, Farrah Mackenzie, Christopher Denham, Jeanine Serralle and John Cusack. Flynn and Kelly are also executive producing the Amazon Studios and Jessica Rhoades. follows a group of young adults who meet online that are mercilessly hunted by a shadowy deep state organization after they come into possession of a near-mythical cult underground graphic novel.
