Silva Screen Records has announced a new soundtrack album for BBC series Doctor Who. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s thirteenth season (entitled Flux) composed by Segun Akinola (The Last Tree, Stephen, 9/11: Inside the President’s War Room). The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 30, 2022 (visit Amazon to stream/download the album). A 3-CD version, which also includes a bonus disc featuring Akinola’s music from the 2021 New Year’s Day special Revolution of the Daleks, will be coming out on November 11. The label has previously released Akinola’s score from Season 11 & Season 12, as well as multiple soundtrack albums featuring Murray Gold’s music from the first ten seasons.

‘Frozen Planet II’ Soundtrack Album Details
Silva Screen Records will release a soundtrack album for the BBC natural history series Frozen Planet II. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Hans Zimmer (Dune, The Lion King, Gladiator, Inception, The Dark Knight), Adam Lukas (Primates) & James Everingham (Apollo: Missions to the Moon, The Real Right Stuff) for Bleeding Fingers Music feat. Norwegian singer/songwriter AURORA. The opening titles music is written by Zimmer and Anže Rozman (Prehistoric Planet, The Planets). Russell Emanuel serves as the score producer and Greg Rappaport & Marsha Bowe are the score supervisors. The soundtrack will be released digitally on October 7 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A 2-CD version will be coming out on October 21.

The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Russ Davies (The War of the Worlds). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. The Watch is developed by Simon Allen based on Sir Terry Pratchett’s bestselling Discworld novels and stars Sam Adewunmi, Richard Dormer, Adam Hugill, Jo Eaton-Kent, Marama Corlett, Marama Corlett and Lara Rossi. The fantasy comedy thriller centers on a group of misfit cops as they rise up from decades of helplessness to save their corrupt city from catastrophe.
Soundtrack Album for BBC’s ‘Mood’ Released
EMI Records has released a soundtrack album for the BBC series Mood. The album features the songs from the show co-written and performed by the drama’s star Nicôle Lecky. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. Mood is created by Lecky based on her Royal Court play (Superhoe) and stars herself, Jordan Duvigneau, Jessica Hynes, Paul Kaye, Mia Jenkins, Mohammad Dalmar and Lara Peake. The series revolves around an aspiring musician who spends her days smoking weed, stalking her ex-boyfriend on Instagram and avoiding her mum, stepdad and sister.

Premiering in the U.S. tonight is the British television movie Elizabeth Is Missing directed by Aisling Walsh, written by Andrea Gibb based on Emma Healey’s novel and starring Glenda Jackson, Helen Behan, Sophie Rundle, Liv Hill, Nell Williams, Mark Stanley, Maggie Steed and Sam Hazeldine. Dominik Scherrer (The Missing, Requiem, Marple, Ripper Street, Primeval) has composed the film’s original music. The drama, which revolves aroun a woman affected by dementia who struggles to solve the disappearance of her friend, premiered in the UK in late 2019 on BBC One and is making its domestic debut on PBS as part of the Masterpiece series.

The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, January 2 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and other digital music stores. A physical version is also in the works. The label has previously released two soundtracks featuring Akinola’s score from Season 11 and Season 12. Doctor Who – Revolution of the Daleks is written and executive produced by Chris Chibnall, directed by Lee Haven Jones and stars Jodie Whittaker, Bradley Walsh, Mandip Gill, Tosin Cole, John Barrowman, Chris Noth and Harriet Walter.
BBC America’s ‘Planet Earth: A Celebration’ to Feature New Compositions by Hans Zimmer, Jacob Shea & Bleeding Fingers Music
BBC America announced today that Hans Zimmer, Jacob Shea and the team at Bleeding Fingers Music have created new compositions for BBC America’s upcoming television event Planet Earth: A Celebration, which highlights eight of the most extraordinary sequences from the Emmy-winning docu-series Planet Earth II and Blue Planet II. They have also rearranged the original scores from the two shows for the new TV special. The string section of the score is performed by the BBC Concert Orchestra, accompanied by Brit and Mercury Award-winning UK rapper, Dave, who performs on the grand piano. Sir David Attenborough has provided new narration for the project.
