Joey Newman (The Middle, The Mysteries of Laura, Diary of a Future President, All Rise) has released a soundtrack album for the indie drama The Samuel Project. The album features the composer’s original score from the film and is now available to stream/download on Amazon and most other major digital music services. Also listen to the composer’s end credits track below. The Samuel Project is co-written and directed by Marc Fusco and stars Hal Linden, Ryan Ochoa, Ken Davitian, Michael B. Silver, Mateo Arias, Catherine Siggins, Liza Lapira and Malina Moye. The movie tells the story of a teen illustrator in search of a unique and engaging idea for his high school animation contest as he unravels a hidden story of perseverance and survival from his aging grandfather Samuel.

Joey Newman (The Middle, The Mysteries of Laura, Any Day Now) has been tapped to score the new CBS drama All Rise. The show is created by Greg Spottiswood (King, Remedy) and stars Simone Missick, Wilson Bethel, Marg Helgenberger, Jessica Camacho, J. Alex Brinson, Lindsay Mendez and Ruthie Ann Miles. The courthouse series follows the lives of a group of judges, prosecutors, and public defenders, as they work with bailiffs, clerks, and cops to get justice for the people of Los Angeles amidst a flawed legal process.

Joey Newman to Score NBC’s ‘The Mysteries of Laura’
Joey Newman has been hired to score the upcoming NBC drama The Mysteries of Laura. The show is created by Jeff Rake based on the Spanish-language series Los Misterios de Laura and stars Debra Messing, Josh Lucas, Laz Alonso and Janina Gavankar. The series follows the life and relationships of a female NYPD homicide detective who balances her day job with a crazy family life that includes two unruly twin boys and a soon-to-be ex-husband who just can’t seem to sign the divorce paper. McG (Charlie’s Angels, Terminator: Salvation) has directed the pilot episode and also serves as an executive producer on the Warner Bros. Television production alongside Rake, Greg Berlanti (Brothers & Sisters, Everwood) and Aaron Kaplan (Terra Nova, The Neighbors).

Expected to beat box office opening weekend records for the month of December is the fantasy movie The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey directed by Peter Jackson and starring Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, Graham McTavish, Andy Serkis, Christopher Lee, Benedict Cumberbatch, Hugo Weaving, James Nesbitt, Orlando Bloom, Ian Holm and Elijah Wood. The film’s music is composed and conducted by Howard Shore who has previously scored The Lord of the Rings trilogy. WaterTower Music has released two soundtrack albums featuring the composer’s score, including a standard and deluxe edition. Also featured on both albums is the original song Song of the Lonely Mountain written and performed by Neil Finn. Lakeshore Records will release a score album for the indie drama Any Day Now. The album features the film’s original music composed by Joey Newman (The Middle). The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 11, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips can be checked out after the jump. As previously reported, the label is also releasing a separate soundtrack album featuring the film’s songs. La-La Land Records has announced the details of the soundtrack album for the indie comedy My Uncle Rafael. The album features the film’s original music composed and arranged by Joey Newman (The Middle) and Chris Westlake (Transit). Also included are two original songs written for the film, Keep It Move’n performed by Moybrothaz and Rafael performed by Smith & Pyle (Shawnee Smith & Missi Pyle). The limited edition release is now available to order on La-La Land Records’ website, where you can listen to audio clips.
