fil-eislerFil Eisler has been tapped to score the upcoming movie adaptation of the classic television series CHiPs. The film is written and directed by Dax Shepard and stars himself as highway patrolman Jon Baker, alongside Michael Pena as Frank “Ponch” Poncherello, as well as Kristen Bell, Rosa Salazar, Adam Brody, Jane Kaczmarek and Vincent D’Onofrio. The action comedy follows two California Highway Patrol motorcycle officers as they make their rounds on the freeways of Los Angeles. Andrew Panay (Wedding Crashers, Earth to Echo, When in Rome) is producing the project alongside Shepard’s Primate Pictures company (Hit and Run).  Read the rest of this entry »

under-the-gunBrian Tyler is composing the score for the upcoming documentary Under the Gun. The film is directed by Stephanie Soechtig (Fed Up) and centers around the mass shootings that have ripped across the United States, compounding an epidemic of gun violence in the country. The movie is told through the lens of the victims’ families, as well as pro-gun advocates. Olivia Ahnemann (Racing Extinction), Josh Kunau and Kristin Lazure are producing the project. Katie Couric who previously teamed up with Soechtig on Fed Up serves as an executive producer on the film. goonTrevor Morris has signed on to score the upcoming comedy sequel Goon: Last of the Enforcers. The film is directed by Jay Baruchel and stars Seann William Scott, Liev Schreiber, Baruchel himself, Marc-André Grondin, Kim Coates and Alison Pill who are reprising their roles from the original movie. They are joined by Wyatt Russell and Elisha Cuthbert. Baruchel has also co-written the screenplay with Jesse Chabot. David Gross (Room, What If), Jesse Shapira, and Jeff Arkuss are producing the project for No Trace Camping, alongside André Rouleau (Delivery ManAn American Haunting) for Caramel Films. The film is written and directed by Sian Heder (Orange Is the New Black) and stars Ellen Page, Allison Janney, Tammy Blanchard, Evan Jonigkeit and Uzo Aduba. The movie follows a rootless young woman who takes a toddler from a wealthy, negligent mother and passes the baby off as her own in an effort to protect her. Chris Columbus (Home Alone, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Mrs. Doubtfire) is producing the project with Heather Rae (Frozen River, Ass Backwards), Russell Levine and Todd Traina. The track, entitled L’Ultima Diligenza di Red Rock, is written by the film’s composer Ennio Morricone (Once Upon a Time in the West, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, The Untouchables, The Mission).
