The album features the film’s original music composed by Lucas Vidal (Fast & Furious 6The RavenThe Cold Light of DayThe Quiet Ones) who recorded his score at Abbey Road Studios in London. Also included is the original title song co-written by the composer and performed by Pablo Alborán, as well songs by Yolanda Eyama and Brigitte Emaga. The soundtrack will be released overseas on December 18, 2015. The film is written and directed by Jason Lew (screenwriter of Gus Van Sant’s Restless) and stars Boyd Holbrook, Elisabeth Moss, Octavia Spencer, Sung Kang and Waleed Zuaiter. The movie follows a man truggling to adapt to life on the outside following his release from a brutal stretch in prison for crimes he didn’t commit and meets a mysterious woman with a violent past. Julian Wass to Score HBO’s ‘Animals’

animalsJulian Wass has signed on to score the upcoming HBO original series Animals. The show is created by Phil Matarese and Mike Luciano and revolves around a group of downtrodden creatures – pigeons, rats, bedbugs, etc. – living in New York City. The animated comedy features the voices of Matarese and Luciano, as well as actors including Katie Aselton, Nick Kroll and Rob Corddry. The creators are also executive producing the project with Jay & Mark Duplass (CyrusJeff, Who Lives at HomeTogetherness). Wass has previously scored the Duplass Brothers-directed feature The Do-Deca-Pentathlon  and the comedy The Overnight, which they produced.  Read the rest of this entry »

total-recallQuartet Records has released a new soundtrack album for the 1990 sci-fi action thriller Total Recall directed by Paul Verhoeven and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sharon Stone. The album features the film’s original original score composed and conducted by Jerry Goldsmith (Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Alien, Planet of the Apes, The Omen) who later collaborated with the director two more times on Basic Instinct and Hollow Man. The 2-CD set release, which coincides with the 25th anniversary of the movie, features the composer’s complete score on the first disc (including previously unreleased music), and the content of the 1990 soundtrack album, as well as alternates and source cues on the second disc.
