Interscope Records has released a new version of Mia & Sebastian’s Theme from Damien Chazelle’s 2016 movie musical La La Land starring Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, John Legend and Rosemarie DeWitt. Composer Justin Hurwitz (Whiplash, Babylon, First Man) who received his first two Academy Awards for his score and a song from the film has recorded a new version of the theme for the musical’s 10th anniversary. Justin Hurwitz Wins Golden Globe for ‘Babylon’ Score
Justin Hurwitz has received the Golden Globe in the Original Score category for his score for Damien Chazelle’s Babylon at tonight’s 80th Golden Globe Awards ceremony. He previously won the award three times for his score and the song City of Stars from La La Land and his score from First Man. The other composers nominated in the score category were Carter Burwell (The Banshees of Inisherin), Alexandre Desplat (Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio), Hildur Guðnadóttir (Women Talking) and John Williams (The Fabelmans).

Already playing in theaters nationwide since this past Wednesday is the animated sequel Puss in Boots: The Last Wish directed by Joel Crawford and starring Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek, Olivia Colman, Samson Kayo, Wagner Moura, Anthony Mendez, Florence Pugh and Da’Vine Joy Randolph. Heitor Pereira (Despicable Me, Minions, The Smurfs, The Angry Bird Movie, Smallfoot) has composed the film’s original score. ‘Babylon’ Soundtrack Album Details
Interscope Records will release the official soundtrack album for Damien Chazelle’s epic Babylon. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Justin Hurwitz (La La Land, Whiplash, First Man). The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 9 and is now available for pre-order here. A 2-CD and vinyl edition will be coming out on April 14, 2023 (visit Amazon to pre-order). Two first tracks, Voodoo Mama (which was featured in the movie’s first trailer) and Call Me Manny, will be coming out as digital singles tomorrow and can be checked out after the jump. ‘Whiplash’ Deluxe Edition Soundtrack to Be Released
Varese Sarabande will release a new soundtrack album for Damien Chazelle’s Academy Award-nominated 2014 drama Whiplash starring Miles Teller, J. K. Simmons, Paul Reiser and Melissa Benoist. The album features the film’s original score composed by Justin Hurwitz (La La Land, First Man), original jazz songs written by Tim Simonec and more, including 12 previously unreleased tracks and new remixes The 2-CD Deluxe Edition soundtrack will be released digitally and physically (both on CD and on vinyl) on March 27. Justin Hurwitz Wins Critics’ Choice Award for ‘First Man’
Justin Hurwitz was honored with the Critics’ Choice Movie Award in the Best Score category for his music for Damien Chazelle’s First Man at tonight’s 24th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards ceremony in Santa Monica, CA. He previously received a Critics’ Choice Award for his score for Chazelle’s La La Land in 2017. The other composers nominated in the Best Score category were Kris Bowers for Green Book, Nicholas Britell for If Beale Street Could Talk, Alexandre Desplat for Isle of Dogs, Ludwig Goransson for Black Panther and Marc Shaiman for Mary Poppins Returns.

He previously won two Golden Globes for both score and song for Chazelle’s La La Land. The other composers nominated in the Best Original Score category were Marc Shaiman (Mary Poppins Returns), Ludwig Goransson (Black Panther), Alexandre Desplat (Isle of Dogs) and Marco Beltrami (A Quiet Place). ‘First Man’ Soundtrack Details
The full details of the soundtrack album for Damien Chazelle’s biographical drama First Man have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Justin Hurwitz who previously scored Chazelle’s first three features, including La La Land and Whiplash. Hansen and stars Ryan Gosling, Claire Foy, Jason Clarke, Kyle Chandler, Corey Stoll, Ciarán Hinds, Christopher Abbott, Patrick Fugit and Lukas Haas. The movie focuses on the years leading up to the Apollo 11 mission to the Moon in 1969.
