Weekly Film Music Roundup (October 30, 2026)

Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the horror comedy Christmas at the Kringles directed by Kevin Lewis and starring Ron Livingston, Rachel Bilson, Rob Riggle, Arden Myrin, Donald Faison and Thomas Lennon. The film’s original music is composed by Émoi (Willy’s Wonderland, The Accursed, Pig Hill). No word on a soundtrack release. The movie, which follows a family starting fresh in a quiet suburb who must fight for survival when they discover their Christmas-obsessed neighbors are a brainwashing cult, forcing the father to team up with a rogue Santa on a high-stakes rescue mission, is being distributed by Briarcliff Entertainment.

Opening semi-wide in several hundred theaters is the war drama The Mosquito Bowl directed by Peter Berg and starring Nicholas Galitzine, Bill Skarsgård, Ray Nicholson, Tom Francis, Dominic Bogart and Brent Comer. Explosions in the Sky (Friday Night Lights, Lone Survivor, American Primeval, Manglehorn, Prince Avalanche) have composed the film’s original music. Marie Kreutzer’s ‘Gentle Monster’ to Feature Music by Camille

Singer/songwriter and composer Camille (aka Camille Dalmais) (Emilia Pérez) is reteaming with director Marie Kreutzer on the new Austrian/German/French drama Gentle Monster. The film is written and directed by Kreutzer and stars Léa Seydoux, Laurence Rupp, Catherine Deneuve and Jella Haase. The movie follows a renowned concert pianist who decides to move her family to the countryside outside Munich to settle into a calmer life, but is forced to confront the unthinkable when the police arrive at their door one morning and begin questioning her husband.

Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross Win Golden Globe for ‘Challengers’ Score

Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross have received their third Golden Globe in the Original Score category for their score for Luca Guadagnino’s Challengers at tonight’s 82nd Golden Globe Awards ceremony. They previously won the award for their music for The Social Network & Soul and were also nominated for their The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Gone Girl and Mank scores. Check out their acceptance speech below. The other composers nominated in the score category were Daniel Blumberg (The Brutalist), Kris Bowers (The Wild Robot), Hans Zimmer (Dune: Part Two), Clément Ducol & Camille (Emilia Pérez) and Volker Bertelmann (Conclave).

Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the drama Here co-written and directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring  Tom Hanks, Robin Wright, Kelly Reilly and Paul Bettany. The film’s original music is composed by Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, Avengers: Endgame, Forrest Gump, Cast Away, Predator, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Polar Express, Captain America: The First Avenger, The Mummy Returns). Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Also opening nationwide is the animated feature Hitpig! directed by Cinzia Angelini & David Feiss and starring Jason Sudeikis, Lilly Singh, Rainn Wilson, RuPaul, Anitta, Andy Serkis, Hannah Gadsby, Lorraine Ashbourne, Charlie Adler and Shelby Young. Isabella Summers (of Florence + the Machine) (KAOS, Lady Chatterley’s Lover, Little Fires Everywhere, The Offer, Lisa Frankenstein, Physical) has composed the film’s original music. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. ‘Emilia Pérez’ Soundtrack Album Details

The details of the full soundtrack album for Jacques Audiard’s musical drama Emilia Pérez have been revealed. The album features the film’s original songs (performed by cast members Zoe Saldaña, Karla Sofia Gascón, Selena Gomez, Mark Ivanir, Adriana Paz & others) and original score composed by Clément Ducol & Camille. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, November 1 by Sony Masterworks and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. The label has previously released an EP featuring five first songs last month. Emilia Pérez is written and directed by Audiard and also stars Edgar Ramírez. The movie follows a fearsome cartel leader who enlists an unappreciated lawyer stuck in a dead-end job, to help fake her death so that she can finally live authentically as her true self.

Sony Masterworks/Milan Records has released the first five tracks from the soundtrack for Jacques Audiard’s drama Emilia Pérez. The 5-track EP features the original songs El Alegato written by Clément Ducol, Camille & Audiard and performed by Zoe Saldaña, Para written by Ducol & Camille and performed by Aitza Terán & Iván Ruiz De Velasco, Papa written by Camille & Audiard and performed by Juan Pablo Monterrubio & Karla Sofia Gascón and El Mal written by Camille, Ducol & Audiard and performed by Saldaña, Karla Sofia Gascón & Camille. Also included is Las Damas que Pasan based on Georges Brassens’s Les Passantes inspired by a poem by Antoine Pol and performed by Adriana Paz. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon or any major digital music services. Also listen to all five tracks after the jump. Emilia Pérez is written and directed by Audiard and stars Gascón, Saldaña, Selena Gomez, Paz and Edgar Ramírez.

Clément Ducol (Little Tickles, I Wish Someone Were Waiting for Me Somewhere, Maestro) is set to compose the original score for the upcoming musical crime comedy Emilia Perez. French singer/songwriter Camille (Corsage) has written the original songs for the film written and directed by Jacques Audiard (A Prophet, The Sisters Brothers) and will star Karla Sofia Gascón, Selena Gomez and Zoe Saldaña. The movie revolves around a feared Mexican cartel leader who has a sex change to get away from the law and become the woman he’s always wanted to be.

Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the period comedy drama Babylon written and directed by Damien Chazelle and starring Margot Robbie, Diego Calva, Brad Pitt, Jovan Adepo, Lukas Haas, Jean Smart, Li Jun Li, Tobey Maguire, Samara Weaving and Olivia Wilde. The film’s original music is composed by Justin Hurwitz (La La Land, First Man, Whiplash). Interscope Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score earlier this month. Heitor Pereira (Despicable Me, Minions, The Smurfs, The Angry Bird Movie, Smallfoot) has composed the film’s original score. Because Music has released a soundtrack EP for the biographical drama Corsage. The track 5-track EP features the song She Was by French singer/songwriter Camille (aka Camille Dalmais) in five different versions and is now available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. Corsage is written and directed by Marie Kreutzer and stars Vicky Krieps, Florian Teichtmeister, Katharina Lorenz, Alma Hasun, Jeanne Werner and Manuel Rubey.
