Films du lendemain has released a soundtrack album for Benoît Jacquot’s French drama Casanova, Last Love (Dernier amour). The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee Bruno Coulais (Coraline, The Crimson Rivers, Winged Migration, The Chorus). Composer Bruno Coulais (Coraline, The Crimson Rivers, Winged Migration, The Chorus) is reuniting with director Benoît Jacquot on the upcoming French drama Mr. Casanova (Dernier amour). The film starring Vincent Lindon, Stacy Martin, Valeria Golino and Nathan Willcocks tells the story of the life of Giacomo Casanova, the famed Italian libertine, adventurer and author. Jacquot also co-wrote the screenplay with Chantal Thomas and Jerome Beaujour. Kristina Larsen (The Last Days) is producing the project. Coulais has previously collaborated with Jacquot numerous times on such films as Farewell, My Queen, Diary of a Chambermaid, 3 Hearts and this year’s Eva.

The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee Bruno Coulais (The Chorus, Coraline, The Crimson Rivers, Winged Migration) who previously scored the director’s Farewell, My Queen, Diary of a Chambermaid and 3 Hearts. Bruno Coulais has recently recorded his score for the upcoming French psychological thriller Eva. The film is directed by Benoit Jacquot and stars Isabelle Huppert and Gaspard Ulliel. The movie is based on James Hadley Chase’s novel of the same name and centers on a playwright who encounters a mysterious woman when he takes shelter in a chalet during a violent snowstorm. Jacquot also co-wrote the screenplay with Gilles Tauran (Thieves) for the EuropaCorp, Macassar and Arte France Cinema production.

‘Diary of a Chambermaid’ and ‘3 Hearts’ Soundtrack Announced
Quartet Records has announced a soundtrack album for the French drama Diary of a Chambermaid (Journal d’une femme de chamber). The album features the film’s original music composed by Bruno Coulais (Coraline, The Crimson Rivers, The Chorus). The movie is directed by Benoît Jacquot (Farewell, My Queen) and stars Léa Seydoux and Vincent Lindon. The drama based on the novel by Octave Mirbeau about a scheming servant who works for a wealthy couple in France during the late 19th century premiered at this year’s Berlin Film Festival and will be released in France on April 1. Cohen Media Group has picked up domestic distribution rights. Quartet’s soundtrack also includes Coulais’ music for Jacquot’s drama 3 Hearts starring Benoît Poelvoorde, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Chiara Mastroianni and Catherine Deneuve.

Quartet Records has released a compilation album comprising all the three films scored by Academy Award-nominated composer Bruno Coulais for film director Benoît Jacquot. The album includes the original score for the period drama Farewell, My Queen (Les adieux à la reine), which was recorded with a full symphony orchestra at Air Studios in London. Also featured on the release are selections of Coulais’ music for the 2009 film Villa Amalia starring Isabelle Huppert and the 2010 period drama Au fond des bois. The movie is directed by Benoit Jacquot (Right Now, A Single Girl) and stars Diane Kruger (National Treasure, Troy) as Marie-Antoinette. Lea Seydoux (Midnight in Paris) and Virginie Ledoyen (The Beach) are co-starring. The film is based on the prize-winning novel of the same name by Chantal Thomas and is set in the early days of the French revolution as people begin to revolt against the court of King Louis the XVI. The French/Spanish co-production is produced by Jean-Pierre Guerin, Kristina Larson and Pedro Uriol.
