diary-of-a-chambermaidQuartet Records has announced a soundtrack album for the French drama Diary of a Chambermaid (Journal d’une femme de chamber). The album features the film’s original music composed by Bruno Coulais (CoralineThe Crimson RiversThe Chorus). The movie is directed by Benoît Jacquot (Farewell, My Queen) and stars Léa Seydoux  and Vincent Lindon. The drama based on the novel by Octave Mirbeau about a scheming servant who works for a wealthy couple in France during the late 19th century premiered at this year’s Berlin Film Festival and will be released in France on April 1. Cohen Media Group has picked up domestic distribution rights. Quartet’s soundtrack also includes Coulais’ music for Jacquot’s drama 3 Hearts starring Benoît Poelvoorde, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Chiara Mastroianni and Catherine Deneuve. The movie about a  tax official who meets a woman in a provincial town after missing the last train back to Paris premiered at last year’s Venice Film Festival and is now playing in select U.S. theaters.
