Premiering on Thursday, June 14, is the new CBS All Access original series Strange Angel created by Mark Heyman based on George Pendle’s book of the same title and starring Jack Reynor, Rupert Friend, Bella Heathcote, Michael Gaston and Greg Wise. The show’s original music is composed by Daniel Hart (Pete’s Dragon, A Ghost Story, Ain’t Them Bodies Saints, The Exorcist). Check out our previous news article to learn more about the drama.

Premiering on Friday, June 15, is the Netflix original movie Set It Up directed by Claire Scanlon and starring Zoey Deutch, Glen Powell, Taye Diggs and Lucy Liu. Laura Karpman (Underground, Paris Can Wait, Taken mini-series, Step) has composed the film’s original score. Check out our scoring assignment announcement for more information about the comedy, which follows two beleaguered assistants who team up to trick their workaholic bosses into falling in love, and will be available exclusively on Netflix.

Hans Zimmer’s FIFA Theme ‘Living Football’ Released

Sony Classical has released the new official FIFA theme Living Football composed by Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, Inception, The Lion King, Pirates of the Caribbean, Dunkirk, Rain Man) for the FIFA World Cup 2018 . The track is now available to download on Amazon. Also listen to the full theme after the jump. In related news, Zimmer also contributed a new remix of the UEFA Champions League Anthem (in collaboration with Vince Staples) for the trailer of the EA Sports video game FIFA 19, which is set launch worldwide on September 28, 2018. Netflix’s ‘Beats’ to Feature Original Music by Young Chop

Netflix has announced this week that hip hop producer Young Chop is providing original music for the upcoming coming-of-age drama Beats. The film is directed by Chris Robinson (ATL) and stars Anthony Anderson, Khalil Everage, Uzo Aduba, Emayatzy Corinealdi, Paul Walter Hauser and hip hop artists Dave East and Dreezy. The movie centers on a young musical prodigy with borderline agoraphobia and a former music manager who fell from grace as they collide on Chicago’s South Side. Read the rest of this entry »

Three new movies are opening nationwide this week:

Opening in most theaters is the heist comedy Ocean’s 8 directed by Gary Ross and starring Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson and Awkwafina. The film’s original music is composed by Daniel Pemberton (Steve Jobs, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., All the Money in the World). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Click here for the full album details.

Also opening wide is the horror thriller Hereditary written and directed by Ari Aster and starring Toni Collette, Milly Shapiro, Gabriel Byrne, Alex Wolff and Ann Dowd. Colin Stetson (Blue Caprice, Outlaws and Angels, Lavender) has composed the film’s original music. Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. ‘Rig 45’ Soundtrack Released

Spinnup has released a soundtrack album for the Viaplay original series Rig 45. The album features the show’s original music composed by Klas Wahl & Anders Niska (Blackway, Farang, Swedish Dicks). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Rig 45 is and stars Catherine Walker, Gary Lewis and Soren Malling. The thriller follows an investigator who sent by a oil company to investigate a suspicious, fatal accident on one of its North Sea rigs, when a hurricane slams into Rig 45, cutting off her and the crew from all communication with the outside world. Keegan DeWitt is reteaming with Alex Ross Perry to compose the score for the upcoming drama Her Smell. The film written and directed by Perry and stars Elisabeth Moss, Cara Delevingne, Dan Stevens, Amber Heard, Ashley Benson, Agyness Deyn, Gayle Rankin, Eric Stoltz, Virginia Madsen and Dylan Gelula. Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album for Marvel’s new Freeform original series Cloak & Dagger. The album features a selection of songs from the show’s first season by artists including lead actress Olivia Holt, The Siege, Overcoats, Ruelle, Bea Miller, The Phantoms, MILCK, morgxn, Isak Danielson & more. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. BMG will release a soundtrack album for the Australian mini-series Picnic at Hanging Rock. The album features the show’s original music composed by Cezary Skubiszewski (The Sapphires, Death Defying Acts, Red Dog). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, June 8 and will be available to download on Amazon. Picnic at Hanging Rock is based on Joan Lindsay’s novel of the same title and stars Natalie Dormer, Lily Sullivan, Madeleine Madden, Samara Weaving, Ruby Rees and Inez Curroas. Magic Fire Music will release a soundtrack album for the Australian supernatural thriller Out of the Shadows. The album features the film’s original music composed by Christopher Gordon (Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, Daybreakers, On the Beach). The soundtrack will be released digitally on June 28, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Out of the Shadows is directed by Dee McLachlan and stars Blake Northfield, Kendal Rae, Jim Robison, Jake Ryan, Goran D. Kleut and Helmut Bakaitis. The movie revolves around a newly-wed detective who moves into his dream home unaware of the building’s dark history when his pregnant wife claims she is being tormented by a supernatural force. Michael Giacchino has signed on to score the upcoming thriller Bad Times at the El Royale. The film is written and directed by Drew Goddard (The Cabin in the Woods, The Martian) and stars Jeff Bridges,Chris Hemsworth, Cynthia Erivo, Cailee Spaeny, Dakota Johnson, Lewis Pullman and Jon Hamm. The movie follows seven strangers, each with a secret to bury, who meet at Lake Tahoe’s El Royale, a rundown hotel with a dark past. Goddard is also producing the project with Jeremy Latcham. Bad Times at the El Royale is set to be released in theaters on October 5, 2018 by 20th Century Fox. Read the rest of this entry »
