Brian McOmber (It Comes at Night, Krisha) and Jordan Dykstra have composed the music for the upcoming indie comedy drama Blow the Man Down. The film is written and directed by Danielle Krudy & Bridget Savage Cole and stars Morgan Saylor, Sophie Lowe, Margo Martindale, June Squibb, Annette O’Toole and Marceline Hugot. The movie follows two sisters grieving for the loss of their mother who suddenly find they have a crime to cover up, leading them deep into the underbelly of their salty Maine fishing village. Drew Houpt (Beach Rats), Alex Scharfman (Women Who Kill), Tim Headington (Hugo, The Tourist) and Lia Buman are producing the project. Blow the Man Down will premiere next month at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival.

McOmber has previously scored the Headington-produced Little Woods, which premiered at last year’s Tribeca Film Festival and will be released on April 19 by Neon. He also recently composed the music for the indie drama Mickey and the Bear, which premiered earlier this year’s SXSW Film Festival and the documentary Hail Satan?, which premiered in January at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and will be released in select theaters on April 19 by Magnolia Pictures.

  1. Wonderful sound track. The compositions are a very important part of of the narrative.
The precussive nature of muted piano strings – space – and passing disonance makes for a wonderful experience unto itself.

See the film – buy the sound track.
